@Metalheart

The MAC Mini conversation was very interesting - all came down to RAM issues.

###ACKCONTROLS### The case, keyboard, and mouse will be Amiga branded.

@Metalheart
From the IRC log regarding the high-spec machine:
Quote:
[09:14:16] ###ACKCONTROLS### Although I will say, it's faster than anything Apple ever produced on the PowerPC side of thiings.

The high-spec machine sounds good. Unfortunately I probably won't have the funds to buy one.

It all sounds pretty positive (the specs and all...)
Not the Ainc/hyperion/OS4 stuff though, but lets NOT talk about that in this thread !! OK ?

Looking forward to see this stuff materialise

@Thread

You people really need to take all this with an incredible pinch of salt.

Remember ACK was on IRC years ago talking about PV being in production etc.

Whilst I would cheer ACK on if I saw something tangible for sale - until then I assume its all part of the fun and games.

Maybe ACK is an unwitting pawn in Amiga Incs game.

I find it incredible that the participants did not touch on the Jens affair or siding with Bill McFleece over the Friedens. Odd!

Shame we couldn't have had the IRC with Ack, Jens, BenH, Jorkany, Dammy and Atheist2 - now that would have been fun!

So, they're gonna make something more monstrous than the Quad 2.5GHz 970 PowerMac G5 for half the price? Ok, I've already stopped holding my breath.

Indeed the 'faster then fastest powermac' bit sounds a little unbelievable....

For the mentioned pricetag atleast....

Martin

ps. if it IS faster then a quad 2.5Ghz G5 at mentioned pricepoint, I almost certainly will buy it

would be really interesting if the high end version ran on the last g5-rendition. (the low power version aimed for laptops, the one that came out just previous to apple announcing their switch).

oh, and ATI recommends a 750w psu for their 2900XT (graphics card).

When talking about low power stuff.

ps: my a64 3200+ (newcastle core) s754 with 3 diskdrives and an ati 1650pro running on my asusmobo based on nforce3, runs perfect on my 300w :DS

Yeah like a 'werewolf' but more like a 'wereAdam'....

At full moon Bill turns in a 'wereAdam' roaming the forums, feeding on the guilable (sp?) OS4 supporters

No idea. The specs should be published next week, so we'll see. He hasn't said when it will be available, so it'll be a while before we see if it's actually delivered.
