@kirka and everyone,

A bunch of stuff is getting shipped out this week:

1) Chris's board will go out on Monday, and he should have it on Tuesday or Wednesday.

2) I'm just waiting on a few case parts for Ivan's machine that were damaged when the machine was shipped to me, but he'll have it this week.

3) Kneedeep's board will go out around mid-week.

4) Cash flow has improved and the issue with Jens will be finalized within a couple weeks.

Adam

Today Chris should be getting his board. This is great news!

We look forward to hearing about its working state (or not).

For Ivan the good news is he will have his whole machine by this Saturday the latest!

For Kneedeep his board should be going out sometime between today and tomorrow it sounds like. Also great news.

I know all these guys have been through a lot already but I think it would be great if you could let us know in this thread if ACK Software Controls comes through this time. If they do, lets help publicize the turn-around and also just be glad to hear about 3 revived systems being utilized once again! If we show appreciation for openness maybe ACK will better consider our suggestions for development proof (past and/or present).

And if the company dosen't come through then we have this thread out there for others (if there are any others) to also tell us their stories and updates (if any) come up with those already named.

Either is a noble purpose for this thread IMO.

@fairlanefastback

Do you believe this? Any way are you not talking about some thing that do exist for example Sam440 that has the correct type of U-Boot already.

@jiyong

Adam should have produced some then announced it.

Because he choose presented a project under development whit out any proof of its existents and done so over and over again, no one believes in him.

Well first I'm curious to hear if ACK's current repair customers, the ones who only saw action supposedly from our last thread, if the latest promises will be kept. One user said he had his board and something like $575 witheld from him by ACK as I read it. So if ACK starts making a turn around in this aspect of their business I may start to believe they might actually be working on other aspects (like these new Amigas). Though I'm still a bit personally wary hearing all the stories we have heard so far in regard to your "do you believe this", but I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, at least on the latest batch of promises. It shouldn't take long for us to hear if they were kept or not and if the repairs actually were done, etc.

Agreed, I'd like to see how things come through.

It is a good PR opportunity for ACK Software Controls Inc to regain some lost trust. Hopefully the company will see it that way, and be able to fulfill its deadlines.

We would have heard them in the original thread. That way it would have a beginning, middle and end.

Now that, my friend, is a huge leap of faith.

Except that the original thread is now locked (with the invitation to start a new one if necessary).

Last we heard, yes, he is their sole employee, and that he works part time at that since he is running his UPS/Mailboxes etc with his wife normally from what hatschi found. I say it that way because Adam setup his company to have an official business presence in this market. He presents himself as the president of a firm that can get hardware to market very quickly. I usually say "it" or "the firm" instead of "them" though.

Sure. Now lets see if the guy who owns a shipping store makes his company's promised shipments this week. And if the stuff in the boxes works and was indeed repaired or not. If that can be managed we should try to be a little giving I think. There is nothing wrong with encouraging further good and proper behavior from his company.

Well, I guess in Adam's defense, he did not specify which Monday he was sending it out or on what Tuesday or Wednesday it would arrive. There's no notice from UPS, FedEx, DHL, TNT or any other delivery service notice that I missed a package. However, I am not surprised that I have not received it. It wouldn't be the first time that Adam told me that it was shipping out and never did since I already have about 7 e-mail from him stating something to this effect.

God bless you that you have some sense of humor left. In seriousness though for others reading this ACK said "this week" so it looks like we have another failed promise.

AmigaAbattoir have you considered contacting the local authorities in his province? (I think this site could possibly help with that, hope it can help you: https://www.recol.ca/intro.aspx ) And would you mind perhaps publishing in this thread some of his delivery promises from the past, our perhaps list the dates? If this company is truly this scummy its time to ferret them out and show the real world way they have screwed over its repair customers IMHO if what you guys have said is true. And from the number out there and the admittal from ACK at still having the items things seem to heavily lean in the direction of that being the case IMO. The community benefit is to know what the company is like now before others deal with them, whether for repairs like you or perhaps other business.

For reference the previous thread this essentially continues from (where you can see what other repair customers have had to say) is here:

If we ever have a poll for top Amiga fibbers, Ack should score quite well!

Amigaworld moderation is considering a policy to allow no polls in regard to public figures (or any person). Thats why the last two Bill McEwen polls disappeared. So I doubt you would ever see that.

I of course could understand it if it was worded as "top fibbers" why it would not be cool. But even a poll seeking balance may be outlawed soon if a person is its subject from what I am told, even if a public figure.

I was thinking of doing this, probably next week since I have a lot of person business to attend to. I already had filed a complaint with the BBB about ACK Controlls.

I guess I could do a breif rundown of our e-mails, but it will have to wait until next week.

Maybe we should wait for staff to comment on this statement you have just made, since it could raise some eyebrows here if digested without explanation as to why an official policy change is being considered.

Yep just trying to warn someone any time they take to create such a post at the moment is likely a wasted effort as its likely to get pulled until they decide what they are doing on the matter.

Well good luck, I hope the other resource helps if ACK does not act by next week. Did the BBB let you know where your complaint was listed if anywhere? It would be interesting to see if any other complaints are listed on a BBB website somewhere in regard to this vendor.
