| I need some testers for a new Linux kernel, which have a Vodoo or one of the older Radeon graphics cards in their A1s. Please check, if your graphics card is listed only once in the PCI devices list (lspci will tell you that).
Please download this image and use it with the SLB. Do not replace any other kernel with this one, because there are no modules available for now and the kernel will fail booting sooner or later. Please report how far the kernel booted (post the last kernel output here).
Thanks! _________________ A1SE: G3@600MHz, 2GB, 1GBit network card A1XE: G4@933MHz, 2GB, refitted AC'97 codec microA1: G3@800MHz, 1GB

I have ATI radeon 7500, is that old enough ?
I tried 3x now and it is stuck after "uncompressing kernel image...ok" each time I choose another input for video (radeonfb or fbdev or no nothing).
It seems to take ages to boot because my 3rd attempt without video argument I got the pingu logo and suddenly the keyboard LEDs were blinking, and nothing more appeared on the console...

Yes, I think a Radeon7500 should be old enough.

Yeah, the kernel is very unstable at the moment. But it sounds like it initializes the keyboard controller on your A1, which is a good sign (actually I expected it to crash much earlier). On my A1 it already crashes when detecting the AGP graphics card. I just wanted to know, if this is a general problem, or if it is caused by the incorrect initialization of the secondary graphics card device in my A1.
