I've received more info from Ainc. This time at the bottom of the e-mail i read: "Confidential".

Looks like they didn't expect you to leak that previous email, but weren't so displeased that they stopped emailing you.

Strictly speaking paying old employees is Amino Inc.'s (formerly Amiga Inc. Washington) job, as they're the ones that never paid their debtors, and they still exist. Amiga Inc. Delaware is totally non-related; they're just a company with the same name, same owners and executives, and own everything that A.Inc. Washington used to.

Keep that dry humour coming

As Jamie was building an IDE for OS4 it seems plausable that AmigaInc would hire Jamie, for his strength in this area, and want him to build an IDE for AA2, which would run on OS4.

Given the limited number of OS4 users (and lack of suitable hardware, vapourware not withstanding), that would seem the surest way to guarantee that AA2 didn't succeed...

@Colin_Camper
Interesting observation that Jamie stopped visiting AW.net on 15-Nov, a week or so after he was (seemingly) hired by Amiga Inc. Given his recent post here, it would seem that his lack of visits is easily explained by his web site: " I have accepted a full time position with another company which is going to demand all of my time for the foreseeable future.".

I don't know what Amiga Inc want him for, but this seems a positive sign that Amiga Inc really are working on *something* (prolly OS5/AA2). And their belated (2 month late) announcement about hiring him seems to be part of a PR campaign that is starting, now that they have quietly announced AA2 at the CES.

All in all, this seems suspiciously consistent behaviour indicating that they are doing something "for real", although I still don't see how OS4 fits in with it all.

Given his response was very "corporate", there may be stipulations in his contract about public forums. Interestly his sig was of his company and not Amiga Inc.'s.
I still see it as AVD-4-OS4 derailed. AVD for AA2 is probably in development, regrettably...

@all

Hello everyone, I have just posted the following on my website
and thought I should post it here as well:

"Today Amiga Inc. publicly announced my decision to officially join forces with them,
and come on board as a full time employee. I am confident that working directly with
Amiga, and helping to reach our mutual goals, is the best way I can support the Amiga
Community at this time.

I know there are questions and concerns about how this impacts the AVD and FreeAVD
project. Please let me assure you that if I did not believe this to be a positive move toward
the completion and delivery of AVD, I would not have made it. Equally, if for any reason
completed software can NOT be delivered to anyone who has already made an advance
purchase, I will personally see that 100% of all collected funds are returned in full.
This project has always been open, honest, and above board; with the sole aim of helping
to bring more developers, and hence more software, to the Amiga platform.

I foresee great things for the future of the Amiga platform, and as always I greatly
appreciate your support."

Best Regards,

Jamie Krueger

How's the job going? Any news on when we might see new product from Amiga (AA2 titles, whatever)?

My expectations are quite low, but that said I find it fascinating that someone went off and starting working for Amiga this year, someone who actually can code, even though that person knew the company's rep. Now they will have been there about 4 months, and unless he quietly quit I'm damn curious if he has any info that he can share. Perhaps you are right and he has been doing nothing and is getting paid in pop tarts and Red Bull. But if he has been getting paid, and still works there I think it would be cool to at least hear what he has to share about anything that he could and/or would want to. I assume he wants his employer to not only survive, but grow and expand. So I'm curious to hear what he would have to say.

I wonder if Amiga.inc press releases will ever admit that aside from the management they only contract and not hire developers as though they want to trick people into thinking they have folks working on a salary basis?

They won't ask him to do that because he would never be able to find the their offices.

@fairlanefastback

Let me put it this way...
If Jamie is actually getting paid, this would be a "news" headline in my book.
And I have no doubt we'd see some comments from those who have been promised payment (yes, continually and recently) and still, to this day, remain unpaid.

getting paid in pop tarts and Red Bull.

(extremely likely, especially the "bull" part.

I'm kinda curious why you wouldn't just email the guy and ask instead of hoping he sees a posting on some web site. Looks more like dig-up-old-threads-and-bash'em day.

I'm not bashing anyone. For all we know he is getting paid decent money and having a great time there.

Speaking of questions that could possibly go unanswered from being missed though could you enlighten on this one being you are reading this "some web site". :)
