After challenging Doomy for irifutable proof regarding his alleged pirate version of OS4, and the fact that I for one thought he was talking through his punani (yes boys and girls, he has one), he sent me a screenshot of his current build running on some new hardware recently aquired by swapping his crappy (his words) Amigaone.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I stand corrected.

You can get those on e-bay these days?!?

He must've gotten it mixed up with the CommodoreOne then...which, afaik, isn't commercially available yet either, but with the proper connections in the outlaw lands of downunder, I'm sure anything could be arranged..

@Darth-X

lol, You're not sure what you want.... personally I think you're an AmigaOne trapped inside a Pegasos's body. ;)

Mate, we can even do the girlfriend. As Gemini/Jumpship will tell you, most Aussie girls look even better than that one. Only the tourists look plain.

Of course, there are some plain Aussie girls, but we usually send them overseas to be "singers".

Yeah, I saw this once... how again does one cause this easter egg to happen ? :)

BTW: I still do not understand why anyone would want to exchange a nice modern AmigaOne against a crappy A4000, not even for the sake of getting public attention... :)

The case of the A4000 is so tight, and you need all those nonstandard Extra-Hardware, which in the end makes a mess of the system... added to it all existing A4000 are pretty old and have it's quirks (the last year before it died mine would not boot up anymore if switched off more than 10 minutes which is why I never switched it off again). And if you put something new into the system you always had to wonder if your system would come up again. And of course there was not much place in the case, usually... and after some opening and closing the case the screws didn't go very well anymore... and it is very sloooow of course (compared with the A1 :) ).

Okay, one might claim "it is crappy because no OS 4 available to the public yet" - but then everyone who buys an A1 knows this before he buys...

I wonder if doomy even HAS an A1 ? :)

Well one way of checking would be to challenge him to post to the AmigaOne forum here,if he hadn't been banned of course

Its done by changing a few env variables in uboot.
Cant remember which ones but I sure its in the A1 owners forum somewhere.

Thing is thats a really decent C=64 basic screen grab. Looks like its been taken using an emulator
If its was the uboot easter egg doomy would have had to have taken a photo of it from a digital camera.

@ skyraker

Actually, this might be a screenshot of the AmigaOne...

in u-boot:
setenv easteregg 1
saveenv
reset

And then try to figure out how to get rid of it again

No, Doomie doesn't have an A1 any more. He's mailed his to me and I sent him my A1200 just the other day (honest mate, would this face lie to you?). I'm sure that his confirmation email that the A1 has been shipped to me has been lost in a server somewhere, and I fully expect it to turn up any day now.

Doug.

P.S - Steffen, why are you reading this rubbish instead of FINISHING OS4?!?! If you weren't so easily distracted then would most likely have been and gone by now already and the new version of would apply to OS4.2 (How is that proceeding anyway?)

You need another one to play when the computer is actually ready to use.
Maybe add more for malfunctions and then we'll have music all day.

OK, very funny, now how do I get rid of the bloody thing

I have tried
setenv easteregg 0, Which just sets the value to 0
setenv easteregg, Which deletes the variable "easteregg" completely.

The next thing I can think of is removing the CMOS battery , which may not solve the problem if the info is saved to NVRAM.

There has to be a way to do it

EDIT: Update: OK the above stopped it printing the C= message, but everything is still light blue writing on blue background, also very large fonts.
