Hi there,
I am putting some feelers out to see if anybody would be interested in attending a big Amiga/MorphOS/Commodore event towards the end of the year?

Our last Midland Amiga Group was a fair success and we wanted to provide an event where more people would want to attend. We are looking for any companies or usergroups to express their interest.

If there is sufficient interest I will go ahead and make some more solid plans.

So, what do you think? Would you attend? Which companies would you like to attend? etc

Cheers
Luke Stowe (Niceguy1979)

Yes, I would like that.

I would like the following people/companies products there:

Amiga Inc.
ACube
Hyperion
OS4.1 running
MOS2.0 running
Efika running
Minimigs in my enclosure running the latest more compatible (ADF writing)firmware
Amigakit
Vesalia

It would be great, the re-birth of the World of Amiga Show!

@TheDaddy

AmigaKit have indicated interest as this gathering is likely to coincide with the release of os 4.1. We can certainly guarantee an Efika running MOS2.0, a classic Amiga running OS 4.0, a Mediator TX up and running, an Amiga 4000 with the Deneb board and Amiga Forever 2008.

Certainly won't be the rebirth of WOA however it's well over 2 years since we had a UK gathering and quite a lot has materialised since then. Have a look at the Amiga Kit diary and you will see they are attending shows in Italy and America yet in the UK, where they are based, zilch !!

So if there is willing the MAG big bash will happen.

Hi Luke,
I will attend yes, but to get some core users and potential users along there has been a long standing opinion (certainly within the 3CAG/Big Bash fraternity) that new OS4 and MOS capable hardware is really needed to get those people along.

Like I say though, I would gladly attend and meet other users for a catch-up

Rude!

Well that's certainly been the case with MOS and with the help of AmigaKit I've taken delivery of an Efika with MOS2 pre installed. (Many thanks Matthew for your help on this).

You never know there might be some surpises once OS4.1 is released - I certainly live in hope !!

Good news! Mine was an optimistic forecast, of course I am not expecting to be like the WOA, I meant maybe in the future, this could be the foundation of it. Well, I like to think positive

You're welcome to just drag me along without the promise of new hardware

ISTR last time we tried to go to MAG, we couldn't find it!

@Chris_Y

What if we book a coach to go from London to the Midlands with scheduled stops along the way to pickup Amigans?

Yeah I'd come.

Not sure how useful this poll is though, most people will have to vote no because they're thousands of miles away

@Chris_Y

I don't know why. There's plenty of info on the website and if you use something like multimap or google maps you can't go too far wrong.

The venue is very good because it is straight in off the main A road, there are hotels nearby and if you are traveling by train it's possibly only a 10 minute walk from the train station (or even less in a taxi)

If it was in the right time frame, yes... I would travel across to the UK for that.

So count me in as a yes.

I said no because, well, I'm in Ireland, but even when I'm in the UK (which is quite often) I'm usually too busy in London to go trekking up the country. There is a slim chance however that I'll be in the country with a day to spare, and if that's the case I'll be there!

I think that's a great idea! It would make it much easier to get there and it would be a fun journey.

Absolutely yes!

With or without new hardware it's high time we had another Amiga show. If it just allows Amigans to meet one another again where we don't normally it's a good idea.
