@jahc

Sad to hear that you are getting tired of your nice project. Perhaps "Polymere" could make some fixes, he did a pretty good job with his PolyMSN.

I really hope that the person who takes over the sources continues developing the OS3 version as it was one of the reasons why SabreMSN was my personal favourite.

But real development probably would require the help of various people, perhaps you could also put it on SourceForge and release the sources as LGPL/APL or any other license of your choice.

@jahc

I might be interested, but I think a better idea would be to upload the source to Aminet...

That way someone could compile for platforms that SabreMSN doesn't currently support & also someone can improve it if they want.

Yes, but the donation give also some satisfaction to continue the development a little.

Hope someone else will continue the development for all platforms crossing fingers. I'm allways here for feedback, tests and suggestions for sabreMSN.

how about the best of both worlds?

make a list of the changes users want and post them on Open os4? then someone can work with you on it.

I think it would be better to host the source code on sourceforge or freshmeat or berlios.

@Mrodfr

I was so focused on the things I couldnt implement, that I forgot about the things I COULD implement. I'm going to investigate font styles now. I might use a different custom class, or I might just use nlist.mcc still. I'm very lazy though, so give me some time to get motivated to investigate, and do it properly.

Are you completly mad ?? Lazy ?? You are one of the most prolific coder we still have !!
The idea to share functions you are interested in coding yourself with some other coders might be a way for you to still control your baby and please users...

@jahc

I'm verry surprised by your answer because just think that sabreMSN development is actually stopped. I'm more happy now.

I don't know now how I must talk about sabreMSN now.... Sure, there are suggestions or ideas for sabreMSN. Mine was:

-1 log file per connection
-A filter for connected or not connected people.

I have also remarks for sabreMSN:

-Only one time, when automatic conenection at startup, connection not work. need to use the connect button anothe time.
-my friend on chat window: ?i?ł?-?@? says: (with email xxx_xx_62@hotłail.com)
-caracter problems when : blablabla is currently typing a message.

I'm using 8859-1 charset.

I like reporting ideas or problems to developper for a general help for the developper but you have the time and the choice to improve or not sabreMSN.

the remark explained before not stop me to use sabreMSN and I just hope one day the problems will be resolved but no problems if next year, jahc

thanks for the work on sabreMSN.

@abalaban

SabreMSN is surely difficult to make because microsoft codes and rules about MSN structures and internal work and I'm sure It's verry hard to jahc to work on sabreMSN program. SabreMSN is IMHO also much needed on amiga world because MSN is verry used to talk with persons with PC for example that maybe more pressure has made by amiga users. I'm verry sorry about that, jahc

@jahc
If you've gotten to the stage of being willing to let someone else take over development, why not make it open source and give EVERYONE a chance? That way anyone with interest can have a go, and you don't have to guess who might be the best person to take over development. (Not to mention that people can combine their efforts, rather than forcing one person to do everything.)
