Hi, just curious enough. Is your AmigaOS 4.1 cd-rom original or not? I don't mean the copied cd-rom we got the first time, but is the original, truly original? There is a printed label but underneath seems to be a copy again.

I mean for SAM. But although there is a printed label like the original, underneath you can see that's a copy and not pressed.

I will take a better look at my OS4.1 CD when I get home but it looked like a pressed CD to me, but then again I have not taken it out of the box or even the bubble rap the box is in at this stage.

no matter what kind of, its still the beta. On other platforms you would be still waiting for the final...

How/What our OS 4.1 for Sam isn't original??, I think that yeahh, the CD is printed with the OS, besides the CD has box of pasteboard, one manual, for me yes, you hasn't saw here in Spain, how the PC shops sell you the PCs with the OS "original" for them, the secret of that in Spain the PC is the leader and boss in the computer market.

I forget it, Do you not bough the OS 3.9, true?

I also have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the printed manual.

Which for anyone who has not seem it is a in full colour well written manual which walks you through the install process in a simple but clear manner. Its not a full manual like you use to get with your A500or A1200 back in the old days but its still very useful for anyone who has not had to reinstall an Amiga in a few years.

As OS4.1 for the SAM440 is clearly marked as a beta you would not normally not expect to get a printed manual and I feel this helps to make up for the unfinished feel the current SAM440 manual has.

I just got my OS4.1 copy yesterday!

@Phantom

I have no idea. I guess the 'H' has the original.

@Phantom

Guess what?

I just went to Best Buy and bought a PC for $1500.00. I had to pay for Vista Premimium on it.

Guess what else?? I got it home and fired it up...

No CDs for the OS at all. I had to burn MY OWN OS discs to 4 DVDs!!

Where is the manual you ask? There is no manual. It's in PDF format!! Gee hope I don't have any computer problems or need any help figuring out how to open PDFs!!

I should be the one bitching! You got it good for a beta!!

@TiredofLife

Yeah, Dead Serious!

HP with Vista takes 4 DVDs or 2 DL DVDs. I can't remember if it even gave the option of CDs but it probably did. Some of the HPs (like the mini tower things still come with DVD-Rom/CD-RW only so you HAVE to burn CDs but those probably just have Vista basic so maybe a little smaller, but like 15-20 CDs probably)

@Phantom
My OS4.1 beta CD for Sam440 has *no* printed logo or anything on it. It is just a shiny-looking CD (on both sides). I had assumes everyones was like this, because it was beta.

But I did get a very nice OS4.1 mini-manual & box.

Yes, but I want to know this cd I got, it's the same as the first or the final version?
