| Can anybody tell me the latest version of the OS4 SDK? Is it still available from Hyperion? _________________ microA1 / 256 MB ram / 32 MB Radeon 7000 / OS4.1 U1 / Cubic IDE / Imagine Amiga 4000 / 1200 / 500 / 2500 / 1000 / VIC20 / C64 / SX64 / C128 / C16 / C116 / Plus/4 / PET B500 2.13 GHz Core2 6400 P4 / Windows 7 / Lightwave / Photoshop / Visual C++ |

Yes, but the Webside is down... Rogue is working on that. |

Is it possible to download 51.22 version somewhere? I need it for Cubic IDE but if there is a possibility (haven't tried it yet myself) that it works on OS4 with current one than I obviously don't need it. |

That would be 53.20... Big difference in version number there. _________________ I had a mission. I had a goal. I had a really large gun. |

Could you apply this to the SDK_53.20 also?

As far as I know, yes. I actually don't use Cubic IDE myself, but seen this article mentioned a few times. _________________ I had a mission. I had a goal. I had a really large gun. |

| I've read the pointed out article sometime ago. Unfortunately I had SDK installed before I got Cubic IDE during last promotion. Now uninstalling original SDK is something I would rather not do unless this is the only option. That is why I wanted to check out if SDK version is not so crucial before I start tweaking my setup trying hard to make it work while it would not be possible just due to changes between SDK versions.
I wish Cubic IDE had more testing on 4.x but anyway it seems to be a good solution since full version of CodeBench is not publicly available right now. Another reason for me to going for Cubic IDE was OS 3.x compatibility. |

Personally I always installed the SDK the way it is supposed to be by Hyperion then I change the CubicIDE text files to point to the right drawers. CubicIDE does not really mind the version of the SDK all it is doing is launching the right GCC version you chose in its dropdown menu (eventually after reassigning some directories), however IIRC the install script was insisting on the fact that you were using the 51.22 version , try to rename the 53.20 archive the way the script wants it to be maybe that will do the trick... (Can't test my A1 broke again :-/) _________________ OS 4.1 : I dream it, Hyperion did it Thank you to all devs involved for this great job ! |

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try. Anyway I'm still looking for this SDK version in case it will be needed for older systems than Update 2. I'm looking into using CubicIDE both for 4.x and 3.9 OS. |

Cubic or its C++ add-on must be installed at least once with OS4 support, ie. the C++ add-on must be allowed to install the OS4 SDK at least once, otherwise the files and menus that can be changed and edited for a new SDK will not be put in place. Step by step guide:
1. If you already have an OS4 SDK on your system, remove it or hide it (by commenting out related lines in the startup files and rebooting, for example)
2. Copy the Cubic CD to your hard disk. Copy the unpacked SDK 52.22 (no other version - file names in the SDK are important) to the "contributions/os4-sdk/" directory of the Cubic installation. Run Cubic's installation and select the C++ add-on for installation. Let it intstall the SDK - it's detected automatically and offered for installation. The add-on can install the SDK on non-OS4-systems, too, for cross-compilation. Do not run the installation contained in the SDK.
3. Upgrade to the latest SDK by following this guide: http://www.amigans.net/modules/AMS/article.php?storyid=30 |

Hello it's been a while ! Glad to see you are still around Do you think it would be hard to adapt the installer to latest SDK ? Would you agree a third party to do it ? I wanted to look at that since ages but always had something else to do. Maybe it's time to do it now ? Last edited by abalaban on 19-May-2010 at 08:14 AM.

Updating the installation script and nothing else (syntax higlighting, autodoc help-while-you-type) should not be hard for developers who have an OS4 computer and installer/Cubic knowledge.
A full update, on the other hand, is laborious.
> Would you agree a third party to do it ?
If you or somebody else volunteers, I wouldn't mind at all :) However, I couldn't offer much assistance since I'm tied up in a different project. And I reserve the right to reject changes. |

Is there a chance for an full update in distant feature than? I hope I'll have some time during weekend to apply all the changes to make it working with current SDK without all of cool features of Cubic. Maybe we should write a new guide about it? |
