Origyn Web Browser, the er... MorphOS version.
I use to use AWeb all the time, then switched to iBrowse, once I'd worked out how to tweak it so it looked decent, and that last update that gave tabs and stuff. IBrowse is with the exception of the very dated rendering system, actually very good, in terms of tweakability and use is as good as any WebBrowser I've ever used. It's just a shame they never upgraded the rendering engine....
OWB was like a revelation, very good, fast, but the lack of downloads on the Amiga OS4.1 version is a pain, Sputnik was okey, but is now blown away by MorphOS's OWB.
I've never heard of Iprobe. Last edited by Stephen_Robinson on 14-Mar-2009 at 06:03 PM. Last edited by Stephen_Robinson on 14-Mar-2009 at 06:02 PM.

OWB has taken over from Ibrowse for me now. If Ibrowse where to become native OS4 and CSS compatable I could go back though. |

I agree with you, but I am sticking with IBrowse because of the downloads. I suppose it is only a matter of time before OWB will do everything I want it to do and I will default to it.
AMosaic? Really now! Although AMosaic was the first one I ever got online way back then._________________ Moxee AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOne XE G4 I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. |

| Hi,
for me it's still IBrowse, though it is dated. When it comes to speed it's simply the best. Ok, it does not have to render that much as OWB, still it feels better even if it looks worse. And MUI feels more like Amiga than SDL...
I loved Allan Odgaard's approach with IProbe. It was faster than IB and what I liked the most, if the BACKGROUND of a page did not change you didn't see a refresh. It looked more like fast Firefox when staying within a homepage. The drawback, if there was no BACKGROUND-tag IProbe didn't show anything at all... Well, it was early beta, I'd even say alpha and IMO died too fast.... :-/

I use NetSurf, OWB and AWeb, in that order (voted Other: NetSurf)
I'd never heard of Iprobe either, and MindWalker only rings faint bells.
Why is AWeb not on the list?? The main three Amiga browsers - until recently - were Voyager, IBrowse and AWeb. AWeb is still in development and is conspicuous by its absence.
Sputnik and NetSurf are also missing.
Iprobe, MindWalker and AMosaic (who is voting for this?!) could easily be covered by "other" if there is no space for the three additional options, since I doubt more than a handful of people have ever used these browsers, let alone being their favourites.
Chris

Yikes, another single choice poll.
Back in the day, on my A2000HD, I used Amiga Mosaic (AMosaic) at first and then AWeb became my one and only browser. Never got IBrowse or Voyager to run properly with my 68000 CPU.
Never heard of Iprobe or MindWalker.
On my OS4 system, I used IBrowse and AWeb for several years. Now, I use Origyn Web Browser most of the time, with IBrowse and AWeb as secondary browsers and for downloading.
NetSurf is also a very interesting web browser. I have used 5591 and 5911.
BTW,Voyager and AMosaic will also run on OS4 but they have great difficulty with today's websites.

| AWeb, OWB and IBrowse - in that order.
AWeb for most stuff unless it really needs css, in which case it's OWB. Sometimes use IBrowse for .flv sites which AWeb doesn't like here.

Ibrowse by far is my favourite.
I use IB about 95% of the time and then OWB for the very few sites that really need CSS. Even rarer Firefox on the Mac but only in a dire emergency where all else fails.

| As someone else just said OWB is great, the only thing that we still need to it is the download funktion. After that we dont need ibrowse anymore.

| IBrowse is still the best browser program and my first choise all the time.
I heard OWB for MOS is moving fast towards looking and acting like IBrowse. OWB for OS4 has a pretty long way before it gets there IMO...
Most of the pages I visit doesn't depend on CSS, they do however depend on the ability to download and the ability to configure MIME types to be able to click on PDF files to view them, play youtube, click on a torrent link to start a download, etc etc.
IBrowse also remembers web links I visit and comple them when I type one in (although the completer could be improved in a few ways), it remembers login details, it has this quick-search feature for dictionary.com, google, aminet and possibly others.
The three great advantages OWB has over IBrowse are these IMO: 1. HTML4/CSS support. 2. Better JavaScript engine. 3. More stable, especially the JS engine.
