Jakub has released a new update for all the Minimig owners with the ARM controller:

http://www.minimig.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=183

http://minimig.googlecode.com/files/minimig_YQ090911.zip

Changes and new features:

ARM firmware - support for:

- MMC/SD/SDHC cards
- FAT16/FAT32 filesystems
- subfolders (unlimited number of entries and depth)
- Long File Names
- alphabetical sorting of entries
- selection of files and subfolders with a keypress
- scrolling of entries with PgUp/PgDn/Home keys
- selection of parent directory with Backspace key
- up to 4 virtual floppy drives
- up to 2 hard files emulating A600/A1200 hard disk controller (up to 4095 MB each)
- optional higher memory card transfer speed (requires simple hardware modification - highly recommended)
- firmware upgrades directly from the memory card

FPGA - new features:

- improved system timing (blitter, CIAs, ROM)
- minor compatibility improvements (CIA access, INTREQ)
- support for two virtual hard disks
- implemented alliasing of custom register space (Kickstart 1.2 now works)

Upgrade instructions is included readme file.

Let me guess, SDIO support, needing the 4 data pins to be soldered instead of using SPI mode?

No idea mate, too technical for me...Jakub is the man for this.

I'd like to get one of these ARM controllers. Is that hardware an off-the shelf Spartan 3 add-on part that you can buy from Xilinx resellers like Avnet, or something custom by yaqube? Where can I pick one up?

Oh.. and btw, do you have anymore enclosures left?

No ! Ii is a pigiback board with an ARM on it, that replaces the PIC controller, the PIC controller in the Minimig is responsible for loading the FPGA and for Floppy emulation.

Read here:
http://www.minimig.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11

This very useful expansion was made by some hobby developers ( like the rest of the Minimg ) what is missing is someone starting a small production ...

---

It would be nice if someone would make a redesign of the Minimig, Mini ITX formfactor, more RAM a faster CPU and the ARM board would transform the Minimig in something more than just an ADF player.

Or the oposite direction: 68k integration into the FPGA and SD-card handling by integrated 68k CPU.
