Not supported by OS4.

Toni says not to mix PPC and UAE devices (UAEGFX, UAE HD, BSD socket library emulation etc.).

I use PicassoIV, CyberStormPPC SCSI and A2065 emulation. For Blizzard603e, only IDE is suitable in OS4 (on board SCSI is not supported).

@pavlor

do you have internet working connection with WinUAE PPC?
And if yes, how?

@pavlor

Finally I tryed the images on my Peg2 machine...

I get 0.75 / 0.75 and 1.05

So G4@1131 was about 20% faster than your setup with WinUAE...

I think that wasnt so bad...if only float was at same level and you can use at least 512mb of RAM AmigaOS4.x emulation wil be really interesting...

But with only 69MB of ram and poor float emualtion(any news on that side?) I think wasnt usable with profit also because you cant do anything with such low memory...

Exactly.

I can have 77 MB without WB startup.

What is useable with such low setup:

Net:
IBrowse (fastest for downloading)
NetSurf
smtube (download only)

Emulators:
ASp
Atari800
Basilisk2 (more pleasant to use than on my A1200/030)
DosBox (cca 2000 CPU cycles performance - enough for Civilization)
FPSE - fast even for 3D games
Frodo (without sound)
Hatari
MAME0.37b (for Knights of the Round)
RunInUAE (most OCS games work OK; AGA games work with JIT, but sound is not perfect)

GFX:
ArtEffect (68k)
PPaint (68k)
TVPaint (68k)
MindSpace (not tried bigger projects)
SketchBlock (only for simple drawing)
LoView (with known limitations )

Office:
AbiWord (smaller projects without problem; I wasn´t able to load my master thesis); Note I use 800x600 16 bit screen for AmiCygnix - 4 MB GFX RAM is not enough, if my WB runs in 1366x768 16 bit

Other applications:
AMIStore
dnetc
MPlayer
qpdfview (one not that big document only)
WordNet
XNet-RSS

Games:
Baldur´s Gate
Baldur´s Gate 2 (I had few crashes, will try to play without WBStartup)
Berusky
Duke3D
DeuneLegacy
EyAngband052 (68k, but works better with RTG than on OS3.x)
Flare-0.17
FreeCiv (not enough Fast RAM for longer play - however, I like Civ1 more )
FreeSynd (seems to work, I play rather Amiga version)
Heretic (in 640x480)
HereticIIDemo (sound is broken, UI blinks, other than that works good in 320x256)
Hexen2 (playable in 640x480)
Icewind Dale (not played extensively for proper verdict )
JaggedAlliance2
Lords (AGA game, works directly in OS4 Classic)
Napalm (with patch)
PrBoom (in 640x480)
Quake (in 320x256)
Warcraft2 (Wargus)
StarCraft (Stratagus; not enough Fast RAM for longer play)
Wolfenstein3D

My emulated 20 GB HDD is nearly full of applications/games. I wonder, is it possible to copy all data to another partition (with softlinks etc.)?

All tested on Core i5-2500K 3.3 GHz.

I use A2065 emulation (Expansions setting in WinUAE, don´t forget to choose SLIRP + Open ports). You must download 68k driver from Aminet and configure it in OS4 (Connection Wizzard works OK - if you don´t use Czech Locale ).

Yeah in light of:

Quote:

I'd really like an X5000 comparison too.

I'm pretty sure we're going to see a continuing advantage in using PPC hardware over X86/X64 emulation (UNLESS, of course, you start worrying over price).

Ok, will do today, first will start with blender (in blender's test and recopy it there)

@ribdevil
Seems there an error in x5k distribution of sobjs. There is libpng.so , libng12.so and libpng16.so. Libpng.so is the link to the lipng12.so. But, libpng12.so, in reality are the same libpng16 (even size is the same).

Prove : http://kas1e.mikendezign.com/aos4/cyrus/blender.jpg

To make it short, to make blender works, you just need to grab libpng12.so from let's say "os4fe1_Update2", and overwrite your one. Or, alternatively i upload it for you there:
http://kas1e.mikendezign.com/aos4/cyrus/libpng12.so

Time: 05:21.48 , for that usual test.blend script. Version of blender are latest from os4depot - 248.7. Tested on 32bit screen, 1440x900, 2gb of ram single module, if that make any difference.
