ITS OFFICIAL! The secret ambitious project was an icon shaped like a question mark! God I'd pay top dollar for that icon!

Just joking guys. :)
But seriously I'm not.

I personally count on Moana, still

@Hondo

Yes you did. Go to the www.a-eon.com and go trough the steps again.
There is a new piece of puzzle and it is Enigma.

edit: ok now that was a late response from me.

What is X?

Anagrams?
First message was OM
next was ENIGMA

OMENIGMA
AMIGAONE

Do I win an Amiga One or something?

Edit: Not to mention a-eon as an anagram of a-one.
Edit2: X = AmigaOne

I love this teasing by Hyperion, I hope they keep everyone guessing for a week!

Perhaps I'm missing my funny bone, but I don't love it (maybe "tolerate" it), and I REALLY hope they don't keep us guessing for a week... Although if they want to provide some REAL clues, then maybe I'd see the point, but at the moment they could be picking random images from the web for all we can guess.

@BigBentheAussie
OMENIGMA does not contain two letter As, so you cannot get AMIGAONE from it, plus you haven't used both letter Ms.

@Hondo

(looking at an extreme angle on my laptop monitor increases the contrast) The letters appear to be:

V2hhdCBpc
yBYLCBpZiB
ub3QgYSBs
ZXR0ZXIsD
QpQZXJoYX
BzIGFuIE9
tZW4sIG9
yIGV2ZW4
gYmV0dG
VyPw==

Having tried them in octal groups (and everything from a continuous single line of characters down to a 42x2 array), the only noticeable grouping appears to be the word "JoY" at the start of the second half of the set.

Of course, 42 is the answer to the ultimate question and all that...

May need some deciphering, may be random text as a background, may be part of HJF's genetic profile, who knows.

Damn enigma engine requires entering a single letter at a time, and without the settings I can't be ####d quite frankly, and will leave it to someone more motivated.

Happy New Year to all

There you go:

http://people.physik.hu-berlin.de/~palloks/js/enigma/index_en.html

js enigma implementations. Where's the code you're saying? Page source?

EDIT* And yes, one can copy&paste text

That's base64 encoded...

When base64 decoded you get:

What is X, if not a letter,
Perhaps an Omen, or even better?

Indeed.

I suggested the Java thing as a joke (people reading too much into things as usual), not realising that Hyperion were actually harnessing this with a viral marketing campaign.
Hats off to the guys for creative thinking there

Of course, it could all just be a bit of fun at our expense by HJF during the Hyperion Christmas shutdown, but it does seem very suggestive that something is coming.

It reminds me of the Acube campaign prior to the launch of SAM (although that didn't go down too well at the time since it was shortly after of a lot of unrealised marketing campaigns by other parties), in which case (in the spirit of adding to the speculative heap) the modus operandi might suggest ACube involved in an upcoming joint-partner announcement. However, nothing on the ACube website suggests a marketing launch underway...

Great job man.

This is a great way to find out what this is all about, much more than just spilling the beans.
This way we are all part of it in some way.
