@ChrisH

Hi Chris,

just a short reprot. Email with crash report will follow tomorrow (I'm leaving in a few minutes).

Switching resolution still crashes RunInUAE (on Peg2 and Sam). U can easily reproduce it:
1.Start RunInUAE.
2.Choose "Boot Workbench" from "Control E-UAE-"Menue
3. Same Menue: Set Screen Size To 640x480

The crash happens always.

regards,
nexus

@nexus
Thanks, I can reproduce the crash here, no need to email me. Is due to E-UAE not running anything - I should have checked that & reported this wasn't possible (but apparently I am not doing so). Should be easy fix. edit: Now fixed, and also made the relevant menu items disabled (ghosted) when E-UAE isn't running any program.

BTW, in case anyone missed my last post at the bottom of the previous page, beta 7 was released which fixes the crash due to Floppy Drive Noises.

@all
I have now made the EIGHTH beta release (please use the download link in the first post). Changes include:

* Added 320x240 option to screen size.
* Added 640x480 option for games, as well as programs.

* When E-UAE isn't running any game (i.e. you used Boot Workbench), it now disables the relevant menu items. Also added a missing check to prevent one item from crashing.
* Now checks more often whether E-UAE is running.

* Added an AppMenuItem (so appears in Workbench's Tools menu).
* Added a keyboard short-cut for the Boot Workbench menu item (exciting huh?).

* For speed it now reads app choices from Env: instead of EnvArc: (and saves your choices to both).
* AGA mode now enabled for lowercase 'aga' in file/folder name (without false detections).

* Fixed serious errors not being reported, and instead crashing & causing system instability, when floppy noises were enabled. Floppy drive noises still seem to work, but let me know if not!
* Fixed not storing 68k prefs correctly for some apps.
* Fixed RunInUAE not reading it's tooltypes when it was started by a WHDLoad game.

Please report if you notice any other problems, as otherwise this is basically the version which will get released.

@ChrisH

I just updated to the EIGHTH beta release, and I've overwritten the .uae config files (as I prompted to do so, if I were in doubt!). The thing is that I get DSI crash errors on clicking the .adf images. The EasyUAE config window pops up and I get the Grim Reaper window next...
I have AOS4.1.1 running on a SamF.

Thanks for the report, but I don't currently recommend EasyUAE for use with RunInUAE anyway, and so do not test it much. You would likely get the same performance using the version of E-UAE supplied with RunInUAE, so please reinstall RunInUAE & choose to install the included version of E-UAE.

However, I will look into it, to see if there is any easy fix. BTW, do you have RunInUAE running in the background, or is it only started when the ADFs are started?

OK, I've fixed the crash with EasyUAE! Turns out to be a minor bug in RunInUAE triggering a more serious bug in EasyUAE's ARexx port. Fixing this minor bug also means that ADFs should now start slightly faster! (This bug was introduced in a recent beta version.)

Email me if you want the fixed RunInUAE executable, otherwise wait for the official release of RunInUAE (r3) within the next (say) 7 days.

@ChrisH

Yesterday I installed the latest version, a clean install and the first impressions are fantastic!
No problems (window popups, DSI errors etc..), a very nice OS integration, with nice config options for input, gfx, speed, etc (right mouse click).
Speed-wise, I only tested Battle Squadron and I noticed just a few sound skips (between floppy sounds and intro module), but in game sequence , fluid & fast gameplay with no problems (no audio affected!). It`s like playing the game with WHDLoad on my A4000!

P.S. Tested on a SamFlex@800MHz&ATI9250 (The Red One F)

@Cass
Glad to hear you like it . Remember to try playing with the Frame Rate setting if you have any sound skipping.
