We should have the 128mb card next week and then we will look at the 256mb upgrade.

Awesome news. Any update on OS4 classic support? It's pretty much the reason I would buy a few :)

I'm waiting for an OS4 For Classic kernel update to support the ZorRAM card and that you fixed a price for the 256 MB Ram upgrade but like this will be a manual work it won't be cheap but can save extra Zorro slot.
According the problem that encounter X-Ray with DKB expansion Ram card on the A4000 + Cyberstorm PPC populated with 128MB Ram.
Did you made the test what is the maximum Ram that can be adressed by the A4000 Zorro Bus?
IS an A4000 + Cyberstorm PPC 128MB Ram + 3 * ZorRAM = Amiga Classic with 512MB Ram ??
Link to an archive Forum about the Zorro III Memory information and about a bug in Exec or Expansion Library or mess in the autoconfig.
That will be nice to make a test with several ZorRam in a A4000 to creat an Amiga Monster Last edited by TorajaBoy on 13-May-2010 at 09:25 AM.

Since Joerg Strohmayer was totally against the idea of supporting additional memory (hence the lack of support of motherboard/dkb3128/fastlane ram) I wonder if they'll release any update. He'll claim that swap memory would be faster and more compatible and that you shouldn't use other memory that is not in CSPPC bus but will leave users without any update to use swap memory. Well I would hope for OS4 classic support for this board, one way or another. OS4 classic desperately needs swap and/or access to additional RAM, or both.
I can't really justify purchasing the ZorRAM board without OS4 classic support. I know how slow the update-wheels can turn, especially on OS 4 classic updates being available, unfortunately.
My original impression that one of the reasons why this board was made (and justified in the first place) was of demand from OS4 classic users for additional memory. But maybe I was wrong, and there was sufficient demand from OS 3.x users to justifiy development and production of this board.
Since I already have 128MB fast ram on my CS PPC systems, I'm quite OK with that under OS 3.x. It is OS 4.0 classic that feels the pain with lack of memory, not OS 3.x. _________________ AmigaOS 4.x Beta Tester - Classic Amiga enthusiast - http://www.hd-zone.com is my Amiga Blog, check it out! |

It would be interesting to know if ZorRAM works with MorphOS 1.4.5 on classics as OWB would take advantage of it. _________________ The only spanish amiga news web page/club: CUAZ |

So people who own a Zorro II Amigas will not be able to enjoy this RAM unless they upgrade it to Zorro III. But how common is Zorro III boards and how inexpensive are they?
By the way is there such a major difference between Zorro II and Zorro III? |

Zorro2 is a 16bit expansion bus, fitted in A2000 and homebrew A500 projects. (8Mb space)
Zorro3 is a 32bit expansion slot found in A3000 and A4000, (2Gb space) . Also is backwardly compatible with Zorro2.

I don't think MOS 1.4.5 allows access to the Zorro slots? |
if you mean generic Zorro boards, yes ... about Zorro RAM boards, i don't remember ATM.
The only Zorro board with some RAM on-board i own (16 bit one btw), is the GVP TBCPlus ... i'll check.

I second that! Always great to see new hardware for the classics - especially days before X1000 launch. After all I like my A4000D as much as modern AmigaOS platforms like my SAM440. |

| I just ordered one! Can't wait for it to arrive! No more RAM problems with the A4000!
I am very interested to see the speed of this Z3 ram compared to Motherboard Ram and MK3 ram.... _________________ A500/030 40mhz with A530, Indivision ECS, , KS 3.1, 2 Megs Chip, 8 Megs fast. | ZorRAM is tempting.
The biggest limitation of my A3K was the small memory it had, and the difficulty in finding a DKB3128 or similar board. I struggled with GigaMem for a while. ZorRAM is exactly the product I wanted 3-5 years ago before I bailed out to my Amithlon lifeboat and then bought a Sam.
So now I'm wondering how I can make room for my A3000 again, and if I can justify spending money on new classic hardware.
