I just noticed that the official AWeb site at http://aweb.sunsite.dk/ has gone down.
Did it move or is it just dead?

@Minuous

this might apply

Let's see if Henrik can bring us up to date.

Regardless, there is an OS4.1 build:

Unfortunately an OS4.1 build is useless for me and my userbase.

I have the binary of 3.5.05, is this still the latest version? Where would I find the source code for this to continue development of it?

No. For later versions try:

or

OK, I found a 68000 version of 3.5.09. This needs recompiling for 68020 but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any source code, I thought it was meant to be open source!?

All I can suggest is to leave a PM for Broadblues.

@Minuous

Have you considered upgrading to a new gen Amiga for a good web browsing experience versus what AWeb has to offer in comparison to OWB or Netsurf or Timberwolf Alpha?

Cheers

@Gebrochen

Being unemployed there is no way I could afford to buy one, and no AmigaOne emulator exists. So it's not an option for me.

@Minuous

There's source code here, though it seems to be version 3.4.

Also there's a few versions of this page at Archive.org, but for the version I tested most of the download links weren't functional.

Unfortunately I never heard back from broadblues. Also the AWeb mailing list seems to be dead too. I don't really fancy the idea of reimplementing all the fixes between 3.4 and 3.5.09 again, that would take months of work leaving me with no time to work on my other software

He was here daily and even logging into irc. It's a coincidence that when you posted this he just didn't happen to be around. He will respond when he can.
afaik, he has all sources.
Would you consider writing to Andy? He doesn't bite. heh.

@Minuous

Sorry for no responding, I don't tend to check my PM's and only just noticed this thread.

The dotsrc hosting went down, but in principle the project is intact. I have the full srcs as does Frank Weber.

we had some issues with licensing which has prevented relocating AWeb to a new hosting site. They all seenm to insist on a limited range of 'standard' licenses these days.

I am somewhat busy at the moment, but I can get src archive togther, might take me a couple of weeks. You might like to contact Frank he is the 68k guy at the moment. Out of ineterest what aspects did you want to work on?

@broadblues

If you need hosting, I can put it up on my site - I have a dedicated box.

by hosting I mean SVN respository etc rather than webhosting could you handle that?
