It looks pretty neat!

I have to continue tuning it tomorrow...

Thanks for the beta!

@marko

Can't test it for now, but how fast it works ? I.e. everything done immediately when you press on ? Can you drag&drop icons on the bar ? Can you move icons on the bar from one place to another, etc ?
Have it skin supports maybe ?:)

Anyway, very intersting to test, sadly that can't for now.

@kas1e

I'm not on the Amiga anymore... but it seem to work like all other dockies do.

The bar is a big docky as I understand it, I haven't investigated the button menu/subdocky that much yet...

I don't wish to rain on your parade, but why on earth is "DH1" hard-coded? On all of my machines, DH1: is the name of a partition already, and none of them has DH1: as a system partition. I can't even create an alias for it, since every machine has a "DH1:" already used.

Couldn't you make it "SYS:" ?

[edit]
I changed all the references within the xml file to point to the place where I installed it, and it is OK, so there weren't any "hard-coded" references after all.

This is the first time I've ever tried using Sub-Docks. I set the Main Dock to be on the right (not centred), but the Internet and Players sub-docks still open in the middle of the screen where their buttons used to be. I also created a new sub-dock called Utilities, and although I copied all the settings from "Internet", its sub-dock opens in the right place (over the button).

I've got a lot to learn here.
[/edit]

As fast as AmiDock as it is AmiDock.

Quote:

Yes!

Yes! The icons you drop on the main bar will even be automatically resized to fit.

Quote:

No, you have to do it with the AmiDock Prefs.

Quote:

It is nothing else than a skin for AmiDock...

@tonyw

"Hard-coded" - looks like you overestimate my skills

Push4Dock is nothing else than a batch of icons and skripts, nicely arranged, maybe impressive, but nothing more.

@all

If you have any problems with the assigns or want to add additional assigns please have a look at the Push4Dock file you added to WBStartup prefs. It is a simple ascii file ready to edit.

No rocket science included!

@Mason

I've found that ClickToFront no longer works with YAM when Push4Dock prefs are used. The only change I made to the prefs as distributed was to (1) change the dir where everything was stored; and (2) I had to switch off the rectangle around the Dock (it occupied full screen width and looked ugly).

But when I double-click on an email in YAM, it opens behind the main window. I can't see why, YAM main window does not overlap the Dock or any of the buttons. Reverting to the old AmiDock prefs makes ClickToFront work again.

@Mason

Not for me personally, as I already have a comfortable set-up with AmiDock and the Workbench context menu for launching smaller utilities and prefs. A smart demonstration the potential of AmiDock all the same. Nice work!

@Mason

I can create a new Items in smartdock, but all with the name New button. How do I edit the entries in the smartdock?

@marko

Open the context menu, and switch to Build mode. Then you can click on each editable content in the button.

@Mason

Like Mason's successful AISS this is clearly an effort to get a completely standardised look n feel and means to navigate your applications and content into the next distribution of AmigaOS 4.x and I wish him all the best with this latest project.

@tonyw

Change the settings of the dock from "Allways in front" (hope that is the correct translation) to someting else.
That should do the job ;)

@centaurz

Thanks, it can be quite tricky to find the right context menu but eventually I found it...
