Ahh. So no dropshadows with BVision gfx cards?

No hardware compositing on BVision. I suppose you could use software compositing but that would be sloooow...

@HammerD

Interesting Quake3 semed to run with great speed.

Don't know the screen resolution and just put the cam recorder on the table (for a better movie).

Hope warp3D will be also improved like that for AOS4 PPC users

all games i tested 800x600 screen mode 603e 270Mhz+ & upgraded Bvision.

quake one looks just as fast as the GL version on OS3.9 (permedia 2)

Freespace was already super smooth in software mode OS4.0 (permedia 2)

but the real test will come as soon as i get OS4.1,but i already know it's going to be faster on my system as i have a faster bus,PCI & Bvision.

I'm usually pretty negative, but Q3 on a classic is cool.

Interesting update, but names and how many of new programmers are involved are interesting to know. As i understand from post, about 40+ "normal" mails was send in summ, but how much of the proggers are left in in end ? 2-3, 5-10 ?

As the new team lead, I have been trying to open up communications. One way is via the blog where AmigaOS developers can write about whatever they want. It is working good so far but of course I'd like to see even more frequent updates from more of the developers. Contrary to popular belief, there are more than 2 developers working on AmigaOS.

It is difficult to communicate via web forums like this one due to the large amount of noise. The blog provides a one-way communication but at least it is communication. I know from experience how frustrating it is when your development team goes dark for long periods of time.

Anyway, keep an eye on the blog for the latest in AmigaOS info.

@ssolie
in my opinion, the official blog is a far better way to communicate and announce news and new steps; naturally a complete official AmigaOS site would be better, but the blog is a step in the right direction.

This sounds like a very good idea, as long as it's done right.

Not *popular* belief, but rather what the cynics *want* to believe.
