So... anyone came up with something about that... I quote one one the posts
from there.....

"I'm surprised this has not been leaked yet. The hardware does not work and the preorder money has been spent. Trevor and Ben Hermans almost came to blows in the last meeting. Hermans is now making all sorts of ridiculous demands and Trevor has lawyered up, fearing the backlash from the community for the preorder scheme. The mood in all camps seem to be a 3-way lawsuit is forthcoming. The twins have stopped all coding on OS4, which forced Acube to release an unofficial OS4 for the Sam460. OS4 is over expect for the lawsuits. "

Is that true or false? Please comment....

thnx...

@eXec

Well, Amigaland is full of rumours and speculations, for this, I think the best is to wait and see, as it needs to be confirmed or denied, preferably from Trevor himself.

@all

This is one of the most ambitious hardware project we have had in years, and even if it is delayed, it is still in the works, and considering this is the first preorder hardware we have had since Phase 5 G4 (afaik), I really would hate to see history repeat itself.

Keep the discussion and speculation on a civilized level.

That is the reason why I asked about it... hopefully I will not be crucified by the
radical PPC followers...

It would be the best way if Trevor can say anything about that and the
rumored 3rd revision of the board and did they managed to fix the
DMA timing problem....

@tomazkid

No need to speculate really.

erm...that means the poster was at this meeting, so...

All either Trevor or Ben has to do is recall this 3rd person at their last "meeting". lol

That reads like a poorly written over the top movie script. Added to that, the A1-X1000 hardware which this person claims does not work, has been demonstrated publicly to work, multiple times. All in all, this looks like a FUD campaign, and has zero credibility.

Could be... neither you or me knows the truth...

Time for Trevor to say something about the whole thing...

Two can play at that game, eXec.

'Wild Bill strikes again', says Barry as Bill sells a licence to competing firm I-Contain. Amiga Inc loses the Workbench case, CUSA reacts passive-aggressively: 'Clearly the Commodore brand is stronger than the Amiga brand. It is definitely stronger than the Workbench name also'.

Leo and Barry are also almost at blows over the name of the new Commodore OS! (well, not really, AFAIK. But it keeps people watching if we make a misleading intro!)

How much longer will CUSA stick with Bill? Will they even bother to go ahead with licensing what little he owns of the Amiga IP? Can Barry and Leo patch it up? Tune in next time for another exiting installment of 'AMIGA'.

@number6 and Hans

Two very good points. I'd also like to add that I doubt ACube would bother pressing on with an 'unofficial OS4' if it was 'all over bar the lawsuits'.

I have just pointed out a blatant lie in what you quoted, and you're still considering that it might be true?

@eXec

this is interesting and confusing. here is the problem

1. If it did in fact happen, I find it hard to believe the people involved would comment

2. If it didnt happen they need to post.

3. If 2 doesnt happen we know 1 is true!

I really really hope this isnt the case as i'm rooting for os4 efforts (though some of you think i'm some kind of troll) and it would be a shame. however, i have been VERY concerned with no OS4 info at all and NO x1000 news when we were Flooded with it a year ago!

I've been looking over the schematics to see if I could see what was wrong with the circuit board, for some reason it won't clock any higher than about 3.25 Mhz, and if you breathe on the memory expansion area, it tends to crash.

Should have made this a poll, then I could say "What a load of Pancakes"

Most rumours on moobunny has usually turned out to be false or completely fabricated lies in the past, so i would not really believe anything from that site.

@Tomas

Second explanation, since obviously you don't understand the sequence here...

Original poster quotes moo.

You might want to read my post after that.

Then you say "i would not really believe anything from that site."

(which is an entirely different subject than the original post and what we think about that post, ok?)

Ergo, I answer your off-topic point about a website by pointing to a legitimate poster on moo, the author of freeamiga, as an example that there are good posters there.

Hope that's more clear for you, and sorry if you misunderstood me...again.

And who is this freeamiga?? I guess you know something that we dont eh?
The guy who posted at moobunny was even anonymous and even if he wasnt such a coward it could have been posted by anyone under ANY name.

All i see in that thread is nutcases who hope and fantasize about this being true, as they are so ####ed in the head that they actually enjoy anything that hurts Amiga OS and beyond.

Of course this could be one of those odd exceptions where a moobunny rumour is true, but the chances of that are rather slim judging by all the other delusional fantasizes posted on that site.

The more recent material is here:

He's engaged in conversations on AW too, his home away from home. heh.

Well, no wonder they are screwed. Just like commodore they are obviously idiots.

They should realize by now, that it only makes sende to write an OS to existing hardware. Which would secure users in getting new stuff. X86 version of OS4.x ofcoz.

In worst case, we could sandbox it. And actually run it in a window on the desktop without the need for another machine. And atleast I, would be happy to pay for updates.
AND a new mobo if it blows up. $100 :)

I was too scared to keep my A1, in case the motherboard broke down. Since i paid something like a 1000 bucks for it.

And if he did, would the moo poster & you believe him? If Trevor posts, all well & good, but some ppl are so full of hate, it won't satisfy moo.

1. moo, with their anonomous posters, have zero credibility.

2. a-eon & Hyperion have better things to do then shoot down every moo conspiracy theory they make up.

I & others have seen & played with the x1000 at Amiwest & it was very stable.
