I normally refrain from posting in this type of thread, believing it does more bad than good and gives credence to the original "story". Suffice to say the A1-X1000 project is continuing as planned.

So a Summer 2010 release then? |

Judgemental ? Seemed somewhat nonchalant to me. |

Nonchalant? umisef is neither careless or casual. Nor is he offhand or indifferent. And he is not in the habit of making innocuous comments.
So while you read something prosaic I receive moral imperative.

Pretty flippant comment on Trevor's part, he's missed his own deadline by a minimum of nine months and everything is proceeding "as planned." How does that work? Last edited by persia on 07-Mar-2011 at 03:55 AM.

Mostly because that's the way things are.
If you are not mindful of the lessons of the past then you become a victim to history repeating itself.
ACube makes a fine machine. If you want more then you have to wait on the X1000 or come up with the wherewithal to accomplish this on your own effort.
I've anted up.
How about you?
If not, will you be placing an order the minute the retail version becomes available or will there then be some other roadblock to your participation?

My main drawback is price. At £1500+ I simply can't justify it, the money is better spent (for me) on a Xoom and iPad 2 and a few other things. New Technology is a draw to me, it always has been, that's why I got into the Amiga in the first place all those years ago, it's hard for me to spend so much money on yesterday's technology when there's always a shiny new toy sitting out there.
My practical side looks at the specs of the X1000, looks at the price, looks at the specs again and throws a tantrum.
Also the IPad and Xoom are also practical purchases. I make a few quid on iPhone apps and would like to diversify into Android. The great thing about iOS (and I suspect soon Android) is the fact that for the first time in recent memory the average person can sit down, write an app and make some money. I frankly like the democracy of the tablet market. There hasn't been such a thing since the early days of computing.
Come in with an aOS 4.x machine at around £500 that runs well and I'll likely buy it. Nostalgia is good, and my practical side can be comfortable and happy with a nostalgia purchase in that range. |

Another rare post in english made yesterday on Amiganews:

Putting this link here, since it is entirely on-topic for what spawned this thread. Similar accounts were also posted on amiga.org.

Same poster as above?
With all the legal activity going on we may have to get used to seeing such things. Take all with grain of salt.
