@ddni

Not really, no. It would ultimately be a staff decision, but DaveyD could probably setup a poll for it.

Even I will wait on the answer on that.

I have no clue about it. Let us wait for the one who posted those images.

Hard to say other than some "concept information" on their website. Let's see if they can even get this C64x thing out of the way first! I think they have really shot themselves in the foot this time.

Don't blame Dammy, I saw the pics weeks ago before they were public and I took them at face value too. So far everything Barry has showed me turned out to be true, this would be a first. Here's hoping his Chinese supplier sent him bogus pics and not some shenanigans.

My first preliminary conclusions are.

1.) Mistake from China
2.) Someone is trying to do some harm

no other possibilities available....

while we're waiting, i noticed you changed your signature today. out of curiosity, what is SMI? at my office it's an acronym for synchronous memory interface -- i assume you're referring to something else?

oh. my. god.

this is unbelievable. unless their suppliers fudged the photos, something is hugely wrong here. thank you for your work on this. i'm genuinely surprised. i suppose i shouldn't be, but i really trusted barry after his notes to me. couple this with the incredibly unprofessional fora replies lately from CUSA and i think i'm done with this.

i shouldn't have been taken in. now i know why everyone is so skeptical of anything new in the amiga world. wow.

edit: i'm going to calm down and hear out their explanation on this one. i've requested they respond in the original thread at commodore-amiga.org. maybe their 'partners' sent them these photos on false pretenses? i really hope so. can anyone think of any other legitimate explanation?

Why does anyone even give them the benefit of doubt anymore? They have proven again and again in the past that they are nothing but liars.

S.M.I. is the ultimate mental weapon carefully stored inside one
person here on this forum. Actually, two persons. One infected the
other. The first is the source of pure wisdom and morality but only
false used at wrong place in the wrong time and the other is
currently under restriction. But he will soon come with the I&I
Tourrete syndrome.

It˙s far from being a device at the moment. It`s still in a test phase.
Well, it`s in a test phase for the last 3x years or so. ;)

I don't know if that is true. Months ago when Barry invited me over, he showed me Disney contracts. This was informally asked to keep private until the announcement, which came true. His advertising budget and contracts were discussed and you saw what happened in the media upon launch.

What sense does it make for CUSA to spend so much money just to spread lies?

@the daddy: this time you have really hit it.
now, cusa has already a tradition of badly photoshopped pics. who wouldnt expect something as cheap as this. and also it was always a little strange, why such supposedly big enterprise would spend so much time evangelizing amiga forums.

even though i do not feel no loss, wasnt interested in this anyway, but why there is so much scam around commodore and amiga is somehow beyond me.

Red...and others:

The shots were provided months ago by one of the agents we were using for parts sourcing. I asked for hi res shots that we could use for promotional purposes. We have been provided factory photos in the past from most of the manufacturers and agents we deal with. In fact, the most recent photos of the VIC Slim production line show our products, with our logo clearly indicated. I never had reason to doubt the validity of any of our sources, and I'm certain there is an explanation for the pictures in question.

I have always maintained an open door policy regarding our plans, projects and progress. i invited anyone who was interested to call me, or come and visit in person. Only a few took the time to do so, and each one of them can tell you that there were no claims or facts presented that could not be verified.

Never has a company, nor the individuals involved, been subject to more scrutiny, slander and misinformation than we have. Perhaps that's the reason some of my replies we as caustic as they were. Nonetheless, our record speaks for itself. While some of you don't agree with our plans and policies, the reaction that was generated by some members here, and on other forums, is just too extreme to deal with in a rational manner.

Regardless of your personal beliefs and concerns, this simple fact remains: We took an idea and a dream, and in little over nine months time, created more publicity and brand awareness than has been achieved by all others combined over the last 15 years. We are now ready to ship our entire product line, and in a few more weeks will be presenting our new Commodore OS.

No one has a gun to your head making you buy our products. Nor do any of you have the right to comment in the most disgusting manner that has become the defacto standard on these forums. I have no problem with comments regarding the direction our company is taking, or the methods we employ. Just no need to bring it to the insane personal level that serves no purpose but to create greater chasms that already exist.

My offer still stands. Our doors are open to anyone with an interest in hearing the truth, and seeing for themselves the reality we have created for the Commodore and Amiga brands.

Barry

@digitex

You do not have to please us in any way, shape or form. Just call off the dogs so mishaps
like this don't happen.

WE do not bring your business here. You know who does.

It's the internet. Think Disney isn't aware?
