If I got the captains hat on for this site, man you would see some changes. The whole site should be remade to osnews.com style where everything Amiga should be covered.

AmigaOS

Classic

Natami

CUSA

AROS

MorphOS

That's the only way you can ever call this site AMIGAWORLD

As it is now it's totally AmigaOS centric which is wrong because the website title implies otherwise.

It's time for a BIG CHANGE for this place. A change where no AOS fan or MOS fan or AROS fan feels bad about their respective system. It's all covered here!

If they're treated equally then maybe amigaworld will finally find the peace it deserves

(but of course you have to moderate against some individuals who can't respect other systems)

This is my vision of Amigaworld.net

A place where WE ALL UNITE under one webadress - AND WE'RE PROUD OF IT !!

@Varthall

Ahahah to understand kas1e it's not necessary to understand every single word, you need only to understand his main concepts, and he is the best to express them

@kas1e

Yeah plz ban all crappo-trolls around, another vote comes from the Sojuz on its interstellar travel !

You really do not understand what i mean by "mad" ? Should i really explain it deeper, and point out on the exactly problems with his posts and what wrong exactly ? Are you really do not see what wrong with him ?

Quote:

You can't sit here and say you'll ban a lot of people,

Cheersgate and Franko should be banned. That 2 persons do non-constructive, negative, non-interesting, non-helpfull, plainly craazy-hatters posts all the time. That is not "a lot of ppls". That is 2 ppls, who from time to time, force me to close threads and aw.net itself.

Trolls and haters of each others destroy everything here, and they should be banned. Of course, if you want aw.net the same as it now, then sure, adopt the rulz, and read over and over frankos posts.

Quote:

There are other persons who truely deserve to be banned for ever from this site and all other AOS friendly sites. But then again will it really help banning people, or should we just adopt a new policy which tolerates no attacks or repeatedly badmouthing of other systems.

Is anyone here care of the problems of other's heads ? Are we doctors or what ? We want normal place to discuss stuff which we like, in the normal manner, without child-stoopid-haters-negative-non-constructive threads. Let's they just go and fix their lives or whater which force them to put a ####-posts here.

Seeing as how your having a go at me and posting absolute rubbish not to mention lies then I feel it's quite appropriate at this point to respond to you in kind.

I have no idea who you are, who you think are and nor do I care but keep you lies and personal attacks about me to yourself.

If you've got a problem with me then send me a PM where I can reply to you in the appropriate manner in which your snidey little posts here actually deserve but in the meantime if you carry on with the personal attacks here then on your own head be it.

@kas1e: you might get my vote if you promise to ban me, and leave franko and realize alone. as for cheesegrate i think hes polish, he deserves to be banned solely for that. poles are lazy troublemakers such as myself. they would sit and post rubbish the whole day, and not get anything else done, isnt healthy.

No, you are one for who warnings will be enough. The same as for myself, and for all the other. But Franko with his posts should be somethere else, but not here. And the other trolls too.

based on my reading of the site dynamics, i would propose four potential moderators, assuming of course they would even want the job:

1. ClusterUK
2. number6
3. ChrisH
4. cha05e90

I vote Kas1e and ChrisH

Thanks for the votes of confidence... but I am a little doubtful whether I would meet the criteria of those running the show here

Mainly I would have very little patience with those who are either (a) trying to wind people up, or (b) naturally wind others up without meaning to. Under the TOS that would mean official Warnings would be issued pretty sharpish, and thus people who don't start being more polite & careful would quickly get banned. I believe this would clash with the current policy (??) of a more relaxed & "understanding" view (of rude loudmouths who have don't care how others feel & who post merely to provoke predictable responses).

I would also be worried about a conflict of opinion with other mods. I'm afraid I wouldn't be interested in playing politics behind the scenes, so I'm not sure how effective I'd be.

BTW, I'm not sure that Kas1e would be suitable either, for somewhat similar reasons. Other than that, he gets my vote! Kas1e for president, errr, I mean moderator.

On the plus side, I would not care what Amiga-like OS was being discussed, as long as it was kept polite & non-antagonistic. CUSA stuff might even be acceptable, if it was kept non-spammy & non-inflamatory.

P.S. Since I am on my soap box, I might as well say that I think my style of moderation would actually be more in line with the wording & spirit of the TOS than how it is currently handled: "Flame/Attacks: Do not flame! Flaming refers to (be) derogatory, abusive, threatening, sarcastic, rude, or otherwise mean-spirited messages directed at members/users. Be cautious when using sarcasm and humour."

I aint disputing that fact...

I just don't take kindly to someone doing nothing but attacking me and posting lies about me for no good reason other than the fact he's got no sense of humour, nor is he in a position to judge me as he knows absolutely nothing about me...

This guy by his very own words here has proven he would be totally unfit to be a moderator of this site or any other, just imagine if sites were moderated by people who have personal vendettas against others it would be chaos...

ZeroHero doesn't particularly like me but he has the decency to talk about such things via PM and not publicly like the petty little kid this kase1e guy is...

Thing is no matter what he has to say about me, as long as I know it's all just BS then his little personal attacks here are pointless and meaningless...

Don't make the same mistake I did refusing to join mod-team. I was sure I'm not a good person to fill this position as I am heavy opinionated on things in our community. But that's stupid, we're far too old to not be able transcendent our personal opinions.

Also: you can step down if you're going to feel bad and/or can delegate decision on other member of mod-team.

I'm updating my vote to: Kas1e, No. 6 and ChrisH.

Are you admitting to continually winding people up (intentionally or otherwise)?

I am almost sure, if admins of aw.net will make a poll like "should we not allow any of CUSA threads/news", then almost everyone will agree with that. And its not problems of "something amiga or non related", its just how its all done in last times, with all that agressive spam and so on.

There's a nice way "Ban everything I don't happen to like".
