for the lack of noticeable breaking news from amiwest except jens schoenfeld acquiring rights to poseidon stack and the vague announce of os4 netbook i went finally to watch the video of the lead os4 developers speech. its fairly time consuming as it looks like he attempts to cover some uncertainity or embrassement. now at 17 minutes the essential information (i have managed to notice) besides that "amigaos is funto use, but even more fun to program on" is about the developers team.
apparently even though there were plenty of quality applications (more than 50 afair) there was no success to attract new developers. there is a promise to work on this issue. simultanously it has been admitted, that there is only two full time developers (go figure) and the rest of the team consists of volunteers and free contractors, of whom even the lead developer works for free. not that it is unexpected, but what is to be done to improve this situation?

Hi Kas1e

Steven is referring to an unsuccessful attempt at hiring Translators, he was not referring to developers. Hard to foliow Steven's speech at times what with all that nervous laughter.

@wawa

No worries. When I get some time, I'll probably post up a summary of the various speeches myself, unless someone beats me to it.

And, it seems Trevor's speech is online now:

Does anyone have a recording of the MorphOS presentation done by AmigaDave? Unfortunately, I missed the live stream.

@polka.

i'm fairly certain @RobertB filmed the presentation -- which was quite nice, by the way -- and should be posting it along with his other videos as time permits. morphOS on the powerbooks fly; it's very impressive.

New link or old? Dated a few minutes ago, but that doesn't always mean much.

Instead of online videos are there any downloadable ones?

There will be, but if last year is any indication, they might be released over a period of weeks.

@all

Very nice written recap of the show experience from Amigadave here:

Oh man, juicy stuff this year!

digi.no - one of Norways biggest and most serious IT news media houses currently has the new Amiga x1000 and netbook news as their top story. In this article Amix/Amidelf is responsible for input.

http://www.digi.no/881131/svindyr-amiga-entrer-scenen

google translate does a decent job here for most of it. Also two screenshots included, of morphos. I can add that "Svindyr" translates to something like "bloody expensive"

If anyone needs hosting space for any downloadable video content I'd be happy to host them for you through IntuitionBase.com

unfortunately michael's excellent video is missing the prelude to the presentation, in which trevor gave a heart-felt and impassioned plea for civility in our sometimes fractured community. i hope robert's version will contain those remarks, as i they reflect -- at least, i hope -- the majority view of amigans on this site and elsewhere against negativity, trolling, and pointless in-fighting.

of course there's plenty of good stuff in the video we have thus far, but trevor's opening words were something i hope are absorbed by our community and mark the beginning of efforts to 'heal' the rifts between the camps. so have a look, but if/when RobertB has a chance to post his version, look for the opening remarks. they're important.

@Pentrite

Yes that one of the thing i was hoping to see, just a demo of the X1000 performance, I guess its still beta so would be a little unfair.

Am I right in thinking Jason McMullan did a presentation? If so, any footage?

Yes. Skype.

I haven't seen any uploads of the presentation except those mentioned so far.
