Hallo everyone,

This thread only to tell you that I bought a graphic tablet Trust TB-5300 and installed on my A1XEG4 1Ghz. The driver is on OS4depot.net here : UCLogic driver.

It works with rear USB connectors and with the USB2 internal expansion. The tablet doesn't work with the front USB connector of my A1.

Have fun with your tablet and be creative !

Nic

Not that many I have to say, and most of those are 68k.

ImageFX4.5 (maybe earlier versions too) does. Press P to activate pressue in certain tools (you'll struggle to find that in the docs unless you serch for it)

ArtEffect does, but I had a hard time geting it to run well on my SAM.

My local build of blender now does. Will update the public version soon.

TVPaint claims to but doesn't.

GIMP under amicygnix doesn't (it's unusably slow anyway)

So, totally dispappointed with the support levels and lack of decent OS4 native painting program, I've have begun to work on 'SketchBlock'.

A 32 bit painting program, with the bias towards digital painting (rather than photomanipulation)

The design has full support for multilayer images, saved to a xml based cutom format, and with the option to export / import layers or flattened projects to 32bit ILBM.
There is a full ARexx interface for (almost) every opeation I've implmented so far.

I plan to support the Magic Server that comes with ImageFX so that you can share images directly between the two prgrams.

To be honest it's in prototype stage at the moment, but I managed to paint resonably at a 1600 x 1600 resolution last night.

Great to hear about SketchBlock! Very exciting and look forward to running it upon release. You are one of the OS4 community's top assets to be sure.

FxPaint and XiPaint work with pressure up to 255 (both are 68k).

I've tested it this morning with XiPaint4.

From your pages (that seem well written & done).

"Plug in my Wacom tablet and, look-see, it's working great again with TVPaint and LightWave Modeler."

It works?!
Must get my *ss on the gear to try mine. (got the wacom for free years ago) !!!

"Now I've downloaded a newly written program to control X10 devices from the serial port. Just have to order the little X10 box to plug in."

Oh man! I should have my schedule fixed to keep contact with Amiga guys...
U C, I dream of being able to build home automation with Amiga ...
((if we had AOS4 for this one could even do some business with the home automation + aos4))

be aware: I'll be back once/if I get the timeslice of home automation on my time schedule...

(currently I just should find cheap burglar alarm system for christmas time, some foreign beggar visited our front door yesterday, usually the robber crew follows some days later ... EU makes it so easy for those international criminals...)

Worth noting that he's talking about a serial wacom here I think, not a usb one.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I've made notes in the reedme for the next version, of the models reported to work.

It would also be useful to know of any that DON'T work.

Yes and No AmiCygnix doesn't appear to support pressure sensitivity but the poistion of the mouse poiner will still move as you would expect with a tablet.

I have just bought a Genius Easypen i405x and it seem that it does not work with the driver.

Installed two files from the archive:
Sys:Devs/USB/fdclasses/UCLogicTablet.fdclass
Sys:Devs/USB/fd/UCLogicTablet.usbfd

Can't move the pointer with the pen, and can't reach the drivers's GUI.

The readme says about a compatible i405 but I have not found anything what is the difference with the model x.

The USB Inspector list it in the HID class.

The machine is a Peg2. OS4.1FE
(On MOS it works

@Lazi

The list in the readme are tablets that work with the equivalent linux driver, ie they should all have the same chipset and vendor numbers etc. so *should* work with the UCLogic driver.

That 'x' might make all the difference though.

It would show as HID because the UCLOgic driver didn't recognise it.

@broadblues

It is my luck with these tablets. :(

KYE Systems Vendor ID = 0458
UC-Logic Vendor ID = 5543

The i405 is UC-Logic, the i405x is KYE. Does it mean it needs a different driver?

It is the second cheaper tablet what is failed me. The first is sent to RWO years ago in the hope to help driver development, but he promised nothing.

May I kindly ask you to check how much work would be to port the KYE linux driver?

Here I found some talk about that, but I don't speak "linux" language.

@Lazi

It's not a matter of porting linux drivers, there is no level of comptabilty between the linux usb stack and the AmigaOS one.

It will almost certainly need a new driver, but I can use the UCLogic one as a framework.

This is harder to do without atable to work with, but I could use the linux src for clues if I can find the right file, the UCLogic one was largely reverse engineered.

I'm quite busy at the moment, so how soon I could do one really depends on the size of the bribe
