Me too! Even though 4.1.5 is not fully optimised it will still be interesting to see.

I envy you too! You're a lucky fellow.

Proof of pudding always is in eating, not in dissecting it to death. So although benchmarks are 'nice', what really interests me is how it 'feels'.

Remember that you have to write first and real priview of all of this :) I mean not only pluses, but all the current problem. Will be intersting also some speedtests, like how fast it boots (and if slow, do not fear to write it if is it), how fast it handle euae and dosbox. How fast wazp3d works with some game / apps. What drivers is missed, and what is done, in which mode hdd works, and all the necessary stuff. Of course pictures, screenshots, videos and everything.

But that should be truth ! :)

@-Sam-

That would be ace, to actually see what it can do first hand.

I went to the VCF show at Bletchly Park but didn't really get to see what it could do.

Could do a comparison with my Sam440ep, performance of the X1000 may be a little better than my Sam but would still love to compare.

Unfortunately funds don't allow me to purchase an X1000 but possibly a netbook when it becomes available.

Assuming you mean Warp3D (and why not add more relevant minigl too), I guess that would need 3D drivers. At least for any "real" performance. Maybe it's possible to connect some old currently supported gfx card, but that works on other hardware too, and speed is mostly related to GPU.

No, i do not mean warp3d, i mean wazp3d (software realisation of warp3d, done by Alain, and which can works without actual warp3d driver, because all the stuff done pure by CPU, and not by GPU).

What i mean, its that he can test on fast cpu wazp3d (not warp3d) to compare it with the same on sam460 (where users as well not have real warp3d , and forced to use wazp3d instead).

I assume that on more or less fast cpu like on x1000, wazp3d even can be usable (minigl works fine over it, as well as over original warp3d).

the AmigaOS4.x feeling was really good also on my Peg2@1131, not the same program usage...

Warp3D software emulation (CPU intensive) for those that don`t have 3D drivers - e.g, current only hope for SAM 460 and X1000 users to run Blender and 3D games.

Looking forward to having you back at home

Great, hope to hear experiences compared to your previous NG system, what feels right and what doesn`t currently.

Please start with RageMem
http://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=utility%2Fbenchmark%2Fragemem.lha

and compare it to this
http://httwww.amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?forum=14&topic_id=32815&post_id=607053&viewmode=thread&order=0#607053

Thanks!

For gfx 2D results
http://hdrlab.org.nz/benchmark/gfxbench2d/

Compare it to
http://hdrlab.org.nz/benchmark/gfxbench2d/OS/AmigaOS

and enter your results if different
