Using glue to fix Amiga accelerators sucks. Many years ago I simply used a screw to fix my Falcon040 and I could remove it without problems. He probably doesn't know what static electricity is so he'll destroy boards eventually. In the pics it looks like he's using standard psu to feed his 1200+accelerator: bad idea.
@Amiboy
Use an ATX to A1200 PSU adapter and a new PSU that provides stable +5v output. 4.8v is not good enough to have a stable miggy. Last edited by Crumb on 12-Apr-2012 at 03:50 PM.

Thanks billyfish.
I have tried original and new SIMMs of all different sizes and combinations in the board to see if anything helped but nothing (took me hours as I have a fair few SIMMs from 2MB to 32MB which I hope to put on sale soon as I dont really need them anymore).
Jumpers are set as they should be, I even tried taking them off and checking the pins to see if they had snapped but they were OK.
It is kind of lonly here on the Wirral for Amiga users, both my brothers used to have and enjoy their Amigas but they jumped ship years ago now to Windows land and aren't i nterested anymore (although my older brother doesnt seem to want to give up his A1200 to me lol).
Fingers crossed! _________________

Crumb true, I did not look either using a standard power supply, but not using Mediators or GFX. Apparently that has not been effective solution, and now believes it is a 3.3v converter plate is not securely attached.

Yes, please note that I had had this board working for many years before this current problem.
All Libs were installed.

Don't know if this can be of help for you - but my old A4000PPC also stops booting from time to time. Reason are corroded contacts between the CSPPC and the A4k mobo. Up to now I always could fix it by cleaning the connectors with commercial contact sprays. _________________ Ciao

| I have an Apollo 68030 board in my A1200 which IIRC uses more juice but I run an SSD HD and have no other upgrades, and my machine runs fine with the A500 PSU. _________________ Check out my new Blog - amiga600.net |
