@Spectre660

Board: ACube Systems Sam440ep Flex
CPU: 440ep @ 833 Mhz
RAM: DDR 333 Mhz - 512 MB
OS: Linux Debian 6 stable
Kernel: 2.6.36

Blender 2.49 takes 15:53.03 seconds (running the test from a shell)

To be noted: it's really 833 Mhz, not 733 Mhz

It seems the AOS4 Blender version is slight slower than the 2.49 version for Linux?

I'll try to find some time to update the Linux 440ep kernel to a more recent version next days

@m3x

You get a 12.33% increase in performance with a 4% increase in clock speed and newer kernel .

New kernel sounds good.

And happy fifth Anniversary .keep up the good work and product support.
I think that the full potential of the Sam boards has not yet been exploited by the supported OSes and software and they are very good value for money.

@Seiya

Nice graphs. Speed increase in newer Blender versions is clearly visible.

@pavlor

The newest blender has qute a lot of differences thus the benchmatk may no longer be valid. Although the engine has been optimised, that may not be the only factor.

To help eliminate this a post of the resultant images might help if they are identical all is good. If they differ then the faster speed cannot be taken at face value.

So now modifying test to make it look better?

BTW... 6.78sec without AA on sub 600€ market PC... about as relevant in this thread as that result.

He can modify the test any way he likes, as long as he explains how....

But when it comes to running OS4, the X1000 runs circles around any other PC

With this values a SAM 460 have better performance /MHZ as the pa6. And the pa6 have big cache. and big cache help alot in raytracing

A X1000 clocked to 1 Ghz need need 742 sec in Blender 2.49
The Sam 460 lite need 709 sec and is faster.

A X1000 clocked to 1150 MHZ as the SAM 460 need 645 sec.
Sam 460 need 625 sec.

@bernd_afa:

Interesting, although I got other values.

AmigaOne X1000@1 GHz should be 745,20 sek. (which is even better for the SAM 460ex)

So a higher clocked SAM 460x would be interesting!

I don´t know, if the CPU can be over-clocked (like ACube did with the SAMflex), but if yes, this would be a good base for an "AmigaOnePlus".

We will probably skip v1.9 for the general release. The next version will probably be 2.0 and will include installation instructions for:- MintPPC

This is great!

Could same / similar instruction be used to install Mint on SAMs?
