I also got an AP500 but the ZIP Ram Version ....

The PS/2 Ram Version is very picky when it comes to ram modules ... the one I had long time ago worked with every Ram, edo, fpm and normal ones .... BUT many many modules above 4MB do NOT work, regardless if they are edo or fpm or whatever ....

To be sure your AlfaData is working correctly you should try simple 1MB PS/2 Ram Modules, 90 to 95% of them DO work in the AlfaPower ....

don't have that particular model, but I did find a bunch of 72 pin simms here.

I got:
3x2MB 70ns FPM using HYB514256BJ-70
1x4MB 70ns FPM (they claim to have enhanced the page mode) using TMS44400DJ-70 (with parity)

I also have 4x4MB EDO using TMS44409DJ-60 and 51W16405S6 (two of each type)

I tested mine a lot of modules, some that have given me, and I bought a few, FPM, EDO ..
Contact Cosmos but no longer fixes hard Amiga. Amigakit fixed hard clasic?

I also bought me a new old stock Alfa Power Plus on Ebay last week and so far no luck getting the simms to work. I do have to admit that I only found 1x 4Mb simm in my collection to test and the others I have are probably bigger. I guess I could test them in my blizzard to see their size.

I should have a big bag of simms somewhere, but last time I saw it was 6 years ago ...

I will test with simms from my A4000 this evening.

There is NO single amiga accelerator wich supports EDO, BUT EDO sims are backwards compatiable, so EDO shouldn't be problem. I've 32mb EDO sim in my apollo 040 accelerator and Apollos are known to be very picky.

6mb sim is just impossible, there is no 6 mb sims, just 4, 8, 16, 32 etc.

I think that you should buy several 4mb sims and try them all? Not just 2 of them, at least I've learn that from apollo accelerators. I've seen many acutions style 20x4mb sims with 2€

I've also used EDO RAM in an Apollo 040, but I know for a FACT that some older accelerators and boards just won't accept them. Not ENTIRELY certain why.

If I had your address I could send a couple of various type, if you find a match report back here exactly which one worked and any modules that don't work you return, along with something local of similar value (please, no real-estate, as that's a right bugger to clear through customs). Deal?

I don't expect parity vs no-parity would make a difference?

Yes, it's strange a 6 mb simm but that came with the controller, according to the vendor is 6 mb and it worked, also has a label on which is written "6 mb". The controller also has a jumper to set in 6 mb.
Is a controller (not accelerator) for the Amiga 500 of approximately 93 years, I think even the EDO did not exist

I tried again. This time I moving wires the power LED on / off memory and I managed a 4 mb module is recognized. Yet again disconnected.
Therefore, I think it's a problem of loose wire or connector/solders, at first glance it looks good.
Amigakit could repair this? Classic Hard repairs?
