No NVidia. Drivers are being done only for Radeon. Recommended cards article from driver developer. _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // "priest" is just the RED goaul in me // The multicolor AmigaFUTURE IS NOW !! |

Currently best are Radeon 9000 and Radeon 9200 that are fully supported. Problem is that these cards are PCI and if you use PCi slot for SATA or sound card ...
You can buy RadeonHD (Radeon 4xxx and higher) but these cards will not run 3D apps and games under OS 4.1 until RadeonHD driver is complete. _________________ AF 2012, Hollywood Designer 5, AmigaOS 3.5,4.0 and 4.1 registered user, user of Linux Mint 13 Roots Taking Over The World |

I beleive a 9250 is best with 256MKB on board VRAM. |

seeing as it would have to be a PCI card, not an AGP, from your link the best is a 9250
this would be the best if you want both 2D and 3D working now.
just taking 2D into account and its a much different story...

| What is the current BEST Graphics card available for the AmigaOne 500? Is it a Radeon or a Nvidia card? Which model is supported by Amiga OS 4.1 Update 4? Thanks all. |
I have a SAM460 fitted with a Radeon HD4650 gfx card and all is great, even better when 3D hardware support is available which apparently wont be long
A 9250 or similar card is okay as has 3D support now but HD4650 is a much better card and worth the wait..... all things come to those that wait, especially in the Amiga world!_________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card. |

9250 is chea[ and AGP but crap
9100 has 2x results of any 9200, and even 9000/9000 Pro has better bandwith and 50% higher clock, don`t let you numbers fool you. Specialy avoid 9200SE as worse model.
Off course, we miss support for 9600 that MorphOS is getting, but its all wiped out by spead of RadeonHD 4xxx With R700 family fastest is 4890 + double chip series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_ATI_Graphics_Processing_Units#Radeon_R700_.28HD_4xxx.29_series
But there you will wait some more for 3D ... Shame really. And you need low profile card, no need for GIG of VRAM and possibly with not so big coolers ... for most of SAM 460 users (see proposed guide for RadeonHD on Amiga) and X1000 is not limited there._________________ AF 2012, Hollywood Designer 5, AmigaOS 3.5,4.0 and 4.1 registered user, user of Linux Mint 13 Roots Taking Over The World |

| Has anyone calculated how much it would cost to do a low volume M9 PCI gfx card for Amiga devices? And M9 zorro card?
And some RadeonHD (700 series) mobile chip based PCI card? _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // "priest" is just the RED goaul in me // The multicolor AmigaFUTURE IS NOW !! |

Isn't 9100 essentially a 8500 and not compatible with OS4.x. |

Ouch! A 9200SE is exactly what I've got and I've had it for years.
The on board DDR is better than my onboard A1 RAM! Or is it? |

I took a look at all the choices for the AmigaOne 500 and went with the XFI 1GB Radeon 4650. At $54, it's a steal. I just have to look up how/where you get drivers for the card and where you put the drivers.

Write an e-mail to ACube and tell them your motherboard serial number (sticker on the board) requesting Radeon HD driver and they will e-mail it to you, they will send you upgrades automatically as they come out _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card. |
