Fab movie, if a little long. Really showcased the qualities of the A500 though.
Miles ahead of IBMs and Apples for the period.
Shame the marketing wasn't better. _________________ Fred Booth ======================================== A500, A600, A1200 c/w Mediator and 030 AmigaOne and OS4.1 Mac LCII, G4 Powermac running OSX + Amigakit and MorphOS 3.0 Dell Mini 10 Netbook running IcAros and AmigaForever+Amikit+AmigaSys |

Ah yes, I remember those days when I got my Amiga 1000 in 1986 and my IBM PC friends were both shocked and wierdly hateful towards me when they saw things like Deluxe Music, Deluxe Paint and Defender of the Crown, for example. I vividly remember one Pc guy telling me the Amiga was just a game machine, a toy. No IBM ever needs to have so many colors for graphics or so many channels (4) for sound - that was just "toy" stuff like space invaders and pong. He kept asserting how much better the PC was, so I showed him the PC Emulator at the time (what was that called?). It was a simply task for an Amiga 1000 to emulate a 1986 PC that had only DOS! I think the thing that amazed me the most was how years later this same guy told me that PCs were so superior BECAUSE they now had millions of colors and 16 channels of sound.
Go figure.
Just bringing back memories from the past.....good video.

| Excellent! I see the video touches on all the points that a user would use the Amiga for. I'll show this at our next FCUG meeting.

| Franko, thanks for posting the link, and thanks to Mr.Vinamp for the upload. I had seen all this before but not all put together on one tape with the dude providing the introduction and sales pitch.
I always thought the "I am Amiga/Only Amiga makes it possible" campaign was the one shining moment in Commodore's marketing of Amiga, and the company certainly had its best Amiga success marketwise in this period with the A500. At least that was how things looked to me in the U.S at the time.
Most of what was to come later regarding marketing and development can pretty much be summed up in one word: disaster.
Anyway, I enjoyed watching this video. Can't believe I don't currently have an A500, and I need to do something about that. _________________
