This:

is working with AmigaOS4.1 Update 4!

Basicly you can plug in two Amiga Joysticks and put one USB-Plug to your NG-Amiga.

Its recognized by Amigainput as two seperate Joysticks, see here on my Screenshot:

screenshot

I buy one adaptor from a german online-store (retro-donald.de) for retro-utilities. You have to build all parts together by yourself. It was an easy job for electronic technician like me.

Its good working with E-UAE of course, if you set up e-uae config correctly after configure it in Amiga input.

I bought this enclosure also and put the tiny adapter into it, its very good looking.

In my eyes a "must have" gadged for AmigaNG-Users who like to play their old games on their new machines.

Here is the Homepage of the initiator(?) of this project in english: http://hexagons.de/index.php/USB_Joystickadapter

@fingus
It is a shame that no-one sells stuff like this pre-built. There used to be an Atari-orientated adapter (which worked for Amiga joysticks except for the CD32's extra buttons) but they stopped making/selling it.

Maybe I should build ten of them and put them in my shop.....

'fraid there would be a bit of a markup of course as I'd need to build them but nothing too much.
I'll look into it!

@ChrisH

I wonder if it's to get around the legality of it? For example, if you sell a pre-made one and someone electrocutes themselves with it, or it fries their PC, you could be liable for that, whereas if you built it yourself it's your own responsibility.

(Extreme examples I know, and extremely unlikely too...)

I think it's to keep costs down. Plus it'd be boring making too many!

@fingus

That is good news. With an internal USB header this joystick to USB PCB could be mounted inside any OS4.x compatible computer with just the joystick ports exposed, for a more "built-in" look and feel. Then just plugging any Amiga joystick or CD32 controller (if supported), would look the same as using any joystick on a regular original Amiga computer.

Has anyone tried this device with MorphOS2.7 as well?

If it works on both OS4.x and on MorphOS2.7, I should buy 3 or 4 of these kits to assemble.

That is exactly what comes first in my mind when i hold this little circuit im my hands

I can confirm that the CD32-Joypad is working with that Adapter. The bad news here is that only 2 buttons are supported (RED Button is assigned as Fire-Button1 and BLUE Button is asssigned as Fire-Button2). But i think its enough for the most of the classic games!

I can offer to build adapters for you, if you prepay me the cost of the adapter and the postage. Remember that im living here in germany, so it make only sense if you living not that far from here to keep the postage as small as possible.

If you have interest, please PM me here on AW.net with this details:

- Amount of Adapters with/without Steel-Enclosure
- Name, Street, Adress, City, State

I will test every build Adapter and then send it to you.

When i try to configure it using amigainput and push the controller top left two buttons get lighted. Would be nice to be able to play whdload games with my Tac2.

@joeled

That looks just like the one that I have, but can't remember where I got it from. It might have come with a complete system purchase of one of my Amiga's.

Too bad it does not work for you. I will test mine as well, just to confirm it acts the same as yours, or see if it works any differently.

Hi Bill,

I will be happy to post a similar thread about this on the Hyperion support forums, if the OP in this thread does not beat me to it, but that won't stop us from discussing it here, as there are many OS4.x users here that depend on this site for information and discussions. I know that you meant no harm, but I recommend that you think of a different word or phrasing instead of "moving" AW.net threads to a different forum site.

We would not want all discussion of OS4.x topics to be "Moved" to the Hyperion forum site.

(again, I know you meant no harm and none is taken by your statement. I will try to start a new thread over at Hyperion support forums tonight, or early tomorrow)

@amigadave

My joystick to USB-Adaptor is working fine using Vice64. I just wish it would work with whdload games. There is a url in the text above where you can buy this adapter. I asked amigakit several times abt start to sell this adapter but they just say they will get it in stock next month, next month etc.

@tekmage
I dont see any harm to discuss the issue here on aw. I also created a thread on Hyperions forum.

@joeled

I don't know if RunInUAE should be debated at Hyperion Entertainment at all, because its a contribution by ChrisH.

Note if you can't find a way to configure it you can always try AmigaInputAnywhere,
you can download it from OS4Depot.

i quote myself from post #1:

Its good working with E-UAE of course, if you set up e-uae config correctly after configure it in Amiga input.
