@djnick

Its not that bad, I've seen a whole lot worse.

Without analysing the site with a fine comb I see two not-so-obvious visual errors.

1. That Inactive state in the menu headings and menu items, that heavy grey shadowing, is very poor.

2. Under Follow Us the fb and twitter logos and accompanying text aren't vertical aligned correctly with the previous columns.

@realize

He is waiting for his graphic card to arrive in the next few days.

@TrevorDick

I like it. It works and will no doubt change with time and as more content is added.

Good to see back online.

@Hondo

I don't think A-Eon should be advertising the AmigaOS more than, for instance, Dell is advertising Microsoft's Windows. Advertising the AmigaOS should be Hyperion's business, A-Eon should be getting as much X1000s out as possible or better still, a few more .

@Amiga_3k

I agree, think they should provide a link to some information and some logo's but not write too many thing about, the site will lose its primary focus, selling, providing information and advertising A-EON products.

@NutsAboutAmiga @Amiga_3k

Ah come on guys this hardware was made to run AmigaOS, and as such should defenately show off AOS some more. This is not Dell but the AmigaOne (whoever knows it) - and surely both sites should reflect each other - just to keep the experience consistant. After all we've only got the two of them, a-eon and hyperion. (sorry acube, you're not in this discussion)

So yeah this website is missing vital information for a newcomer who happens to just come by!

I like the new site, sure it's simple but most important are the content inside it

I am not sure, wether A-Eons site is focused on selling,.. I'd rather see it as information source/way to launch press releases. If it's main aim would be selling, then the first photo+undertitle would not be "AmigaOne X1000 Boingball Cases".

(It should then be something like "First Multicore PPC based desktop ever" -> Pointing out the pluses seen from Hardware point of view.)

However, I really like the design - expect the black title bar - some sort of "Amiga Blue" (like in default WB theme) would be more "amigaish" or use some white/grey like screen titlebar design on OS4.x

However, most important to me would be a "massive" product launch, which attracts media attention (outside of Amiga comunity). A-Eon already had 2 good ideas there ("What is X ?" campaign and "Eat my socks" campaign).

@Hondo

Well my point was that it should not be 80% about AmigaOS and 20% A-EON hardware, the point is that it should be clear when you go to A-EON, one they are selling hardware of carouse they should is what operating systems that work on hardware and possible a description of what each OS does, but it should not become the primary focus of the site.

The new web site is nice and easy to navigate. I miss the amigaized part, but it's nice.

@realize

I don't think it's about 'not liking' but think of Joe Average entering the site. If he has no experience with AmigaOS he would have a hard time figuring it out. Now, one could argue if Joe Average would be walking in but that's another thing. The way the site is designed now pretty much everybody (not using a mobile phone with a small display) can navigate the site, knowing where to go rather intuitive.

@hondo

Don't get me wrong, I know the X1000 is designed 'as an Amiga' but I think that A-Eon has enough on their hands with the hardware, they shouldn't be bothered too much with the OS. That's Hyperion's job. Same goes for ACube. Let any of the three companies handle their core businesses.

Said that, I had trouble finding a direct link to 'official' OS4 websites on the site. Maybe there should be some gentlemen's agreement between A-Eon, ACube and Hyperion to link to each other's sites.

However there are some sharp edges, I'm glad there's finally a site back up again and not a sign telling to comeback somewhere in the future.

@thread

Did someone already cause discussion concerning the speculation on the 'In Development' thing that's 'Coming soon' ?

the "Coming Soon" xorro development board sounds promising.

@moderators

Thank you moderators for removing the previous post. It's seems that some people have a special ability to put here and there not elegant words.
