Hi All

I had been away from the Amiga scene for some 5 years and returned after finding computing (using my Apple MacBook Pro) although complete and useful very boring!

It has been quite an eventful return, buying a SAM460 and installing all my backed up software and getting back to the community, am really enjoying being an 'Amigan' again.

I have re-joined the ANT Amiga user group and go whenever work allows and enjoy it very much. I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the people on here that have helped me, some simple silly things and some bigger problems all resolved with your help, it makes me proud to be back with the Amiga and associated community again, feels good

I have contributed to many projects financially now and looking forward to all the updates and progress that takes place, the likes of Lo-View, Cinnamon Writer, MUI OWB and Timberwolf just a few examples of excellent software acvailable on the Amiga.

Long live the Amiga

PS: Am selling my Apple MacBook Pro now!

Amiga users & fans are the sole reason why Amiga, in all it's flavours, is still being actively developed in 2012!

Cheers to all of us Amiga freaks- drama et all it's still my favourite OS & community bar none- NEVER DIE NEVER SURRENDER

After 23+ years I'm still here because of what the Amiga Platform does best within the world of computers, The Human Experience.

Yes, there have been difficult times but those trials have not dulled my enthusiasm for the platform simply because it is more than just a computer.

Talented people willing to invest their time and money into something that could benefit others, often without expecting finanical gain, often just for the need to accomplish a worthwhile task in a atmosphere of appreciation from those of like mind. Perhaps one of the best examples of why I am still here is THIS and of course I want it yesterday.

I wonder how many would have been attracted to Amiga if instead of The Juggler a (at that time) text editor would have been the main draw. I Leave the mundane to those that do it best, I'm not here for a Personal Computer, I'm here for a People Computer.

Welcome back @sicky.

I have you and Robert W (via Total Amiga Magazine) to thank for helping to ignite my interest in next generation Amigas.

Robert is a close friend of mine, I have taken him along to a few ANT meetings with me and he has dabled with my system and he is impressed with OS4.1.4

He regularly comes to my home for 'Amiga evenings' which he really enjoys and I have talked him into retreiving his AmigaOne XE down from the loft and he will probably upgrade from OS 4.0 to OS4.2 when it becomes available.

So hopefully another Amiga returnee

That would be good, I am having a lot of success in getting 'Rhino' (Robert Williams) back, he was the editor of our magazine you may remember 'Total Amiga'.

He comes round to my house quite often to have an Amiga evening and he is very impressed with Amiga OS4.1.4 on my SAM460 and said he will get his AmigaOne XE down from the loft with the intention of upgrading it from OS4.0 to OS4.2 when it is released.

He still knows the Amiga inside out and has helped me set up my system

Yes I remember you contributing, I have all copies in PDF format and 'Rhino' is sorting out getting the whole set released via AmigaKit on a CD-ROM in PDF format.

PS:
Just spoke to Robert a moment ago and he has got his AmigaOne XE down from the loft and fired it up and it's all working so will shortly be returning to the Amiga community

that would be outstanding. total amiga was an outstanding publication; i've enjoyed reading the PDFs of those issues that are publicly available. it's a shame it's no longer produced.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the positive comments, it's nice to be remembered!

I have been working on and off to release the remaining Total Amiga issues that aren't on the web site. Seeing that there is some interest is good motivation to actually get it finished!

As Sicky says, my AmigaOne XE is still going strong after several years in the loft, I'm looking forward to getting back into the scene.

Robert
