no, you're not blind. i've been thinking the same thing. there isn't anything in that screenshot that isn't part of the default theme for OS4.1 other than the backdrop.
maybe we're missing something?

Yes, this has actually been brought up many times here in the forums. The AmigaOS4.1 so-called-logo is truly terrible._________________ The Rear Window blog

You obviously are.
This is ALPHA 0.1... I clearly stated that:
"Expect something very soon [if free time allows me] to create interface better than MacOS or Win7 This is alpha v0.1"
I was asking where will I search for default skins and bitmaps I will change as I am not into Amiga world in past 10-12 years. _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

I am sure you didn't follow my fight trying to get AmigaOS installing and working on SAM 460 ex and that I had to invest ~400 euros just to make my gift alive.
After a bit improved default look [alpha 0.1] comes alpha 0.2... until I am satisfied. _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

no reason to burst out like that. i just asked if this is the background or was the actual theme worked on at all. and seriously, you have got a computer sponsored by others if you need half a year and 400 euro to make it work its certainly not my or eliyahus fault, you might remember i even tried to help you. Oh I am sorry for my aggressive reply, but overall I had painful [Amiga] time. 6 months since I got it... Thousands of situations etc... I should count "work" since last night when I finally have AOS actually up and working. Now comes installation of other programs I enjoyed in past, testing stuff and creating skins...
I will have lots of questions [of course]... I just want to make the OS I would be proud of :)
Sorry again. _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

I just had a look to see what it was all about and my reaction is the same. Other than the clock, which looks like it's using HTC's sense skin, I don't seem to see anything different than the default theme.
I've gone the other way with all this UI stuff and toned it down. I tweaked one of the default themes to look a bit more like vanilla 4.0 and then played with it a little: http://www.amiga.org/gallery/images/810/1_u3_4.jpg

| @Karlos im also rather in favor of design that doesnt get in the way too much. first thing after i installed 4.0 was a rather cumbersome procedure to make it look 3.x alike.

In regard to the making Jack window more transparency - well yet again I forgot stick the HW documentation on a USB stick so I can learn and read through when at home. I guess no big rush. _________________

shouldnt there be a comma between "yes" and "master" and maybe even a question mark at the end. like in: "yes, master? >" |

| At the risk of sounding grouchy, how about the prompt is just left alone to show useful things, like the DOS process number, current directory path and the like? It's a tool, not a toy.

Sorry, an issue with the R200 driver has, to borrow a quote from a colleague, "pickling my noodle" for the last few hours and has eroded my sense of humour a bit today :-/ _________________ Doing stupid things for fun... |

Excellent notice :) I will put "Yes, Master? >" he he :)
Anyway - any chance to make visible scrollbar at the right [as in KingKon] and make black backgrond and white or green text in official Amiga shell?
Now it seems a bit limited, but still muuuuch improved in comparation with Windows shell / cli windows. _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

there is a new console handler and shell planned for OS4.2, and which has been in beta builds for years. it includes scrollback capabilities, very nice autocompletion, etc. but for now kingCON works well for those of us with OS4.1 releases. it installs just like it used to in OS3.x; search the fora and you'll find instructions.
as for changing coloration and the prompt, there's a text document in the documentation drawer somewhere that explains the variables you add and where. can't remember the name, though. can anyone else help here?
