the updated logo was designed by martin 'mason' merz. and yes, it's very nice indeed.
you planning on coming up for the show this year?

It's so far away... how long is that drive from LA? If it was local, I would totally go... but driving 6+ hours makes me seriously question my fanboyness. |

Bah! I go there every year from LA and have gone by bus, car and airplane.
This year I'm tempted to go by train or even motorcycle if the weather looks okay.
The fastest is the airplane, roughly 1 hour, or make that 2-3h thanks to the TSA and costs around $120 R/T.
The train takes about 13h (10am to 11pm) so it's mainly good if you want to enjoy the view up the coast, it could get boring. IIRC it costs less than the bus.
The night bus takes 7-8 hours, and cost around $90 R/T. It tends to be full so it's not easy to sleep comfortably but it's better than wasting the day travelling.
The car requires staying focused on the road for 6-7h but if you go with several people you can split the cost of gas, driving time, and talk about amigas to make time go faster so it's not too bad either.
Trevor has to fly from Australia, the Friedens from Germany, PJS from Virginia, SSolie from Canada, so being in LA isn't so bad, it gives you alternatives if you don't like getting molested by under-qualified subcontractors _________________ AlexC's free OS4 software collection

i think that's only if you take #14. if you don't mind a motorcoach transfer from LA to bakersfield -- rather than the coastal routing on #14, amtrak can have you up there in about 7.5 hours via the san joaquin. booking this early out, it should easily be under $60 each way.
i can't take the TSA, either, although i probably have slightly more reason than most; in any case i'm glad national rail service is still available as an option!
