Today Thomas Biskup started a crowd funding campaign to resurrect the development of ADOM (Ancient Domains of Mystery). ADOM is a roguelike-based game, consisting of ASCII characters instead of graphics.

If the campaign is successful, new Amiga releases will be available too.

Check out the campaign on indiegogo http://www.indiegogo.com/resurrect-adom-development and the homepage http://www.adom.de

Something interesting already happened:

ADOM 1.2.0 Prerelease 1 now available

There are, among other builds, Amiga downloads. Get them at www.ancardia.com

@Thematic

Cool.

Anyone tried the Amiga version under OS4 or MorphOS yet?

I think I will also have to give the 68000 version a go on my Minimig, if it works on my Minimig or under OS4 I could be very busy for the next few evenings

@Dwyloc

I tried the 68020 version on OS4, but forgot to disable JIT like I've done on 1.1.1. This is probably why the prerelease frequently failed. However, it was an error caught by ADOM.

I should try again later, I don't remember what made me disable JIT, several years ago.

edit: Later, the prerelease evidently has problems unrelated to JIT emulator.

I remember playing this game on my classic Amiga years ago. On an IRC channel I used frequent, we used to see who could get the highest level character before being killed.

Successfully funded on August 22nd, 0:03. There's still time left for "stretch goals". But go see for yourself.
