Hi,
The OS4 default theme is keeping the style of WB2/WB3 but in a modern way, what is good because I think it's important to keep the heritage, at least for the default look, then everybody is free to change the theme. Unfortunately, I was never really convinced by OS4 default theme, not bad at all but still too much old fashioned in my mind. So, I tried to think how it could be improved and then discovered eveything was already existing but in different packages. So, after some tuning, here what I achieved: Screengrab1 Screengrab2
The GUI (palette, gadgets, style, windows borders...) of the theme is the AmiBoing Light Blue theme that I tuned a little to reduce composites effect and I create a Workbench title bar of my own. I really like this GUI, the white background used for menu looks very polished and much more modern than this ugly grey that is still a big part of default OS4 look. Backdrop in the windows are from Amitheme
Background picture is from DJNick I really love its Amiga logo, that managed to mix and combine the style of the 3 historical logos (trapezoidal logo from early Amiga days, the iconic italic logos from the glory days and the post Commodore logo). It should become the official one in my mind.
Pointers that you can see in a window on first screengrab (that was the only way to show pointers as it's not possible to capture pointers with current screengrab tools) are from OS4depot
At the end, I really like the results, modern but very AmigaOS. I would prefer this to be default look. What do you think? If there is interest and if the various original authors agree, I could make an archive and installer for such a theme.
