Nobody needed a new tetris clone but they got it anyway. If you like to organize falling blocks, head your browser to http://capehill.kapsi.fi/ . Source code release planned after some cleanup. Currently running on AmigaOS 4.1 (tested on Sam440), Windows 7 (tested on x64) and experimentally on Debian / Raspberry PI (no binary available yet).

On AmigaOS 4, SDL and SDL_ttf shared objects are required. (Currently there are no sound effects or full screen mode but thanks for asking)

@Mr_Capehill

I got a crash on startup (it only printed "Fixed frame length 16.666666 ms").

Oh and welcome back.

@Mr_Capehill

Got excited for a minute as I thought you said a 'Napalm' clone for OS4!

... but then I click and see 'Tetris'!

I'll stick to Columns on my refurbished Game Gear thanks

And the best Amiga clone of that game was 'Squigs'! Awesome

AmigaOneXE (unmod.) 750FX/512 MB +stuff & AmigaOS 4.1 update 5. Radeon 9200 type AGP card.

I have since tried it in a different boot session, same result. Maybe it doesn't like the shared objects:

md5sum sobjs:libSDL-1.2.so sobjs:libSDL_ttf.so
019abdf34402748d4a7114f4c2f443eb sobjs:libSDL-1.2.so

@KimmoK

Yeah would be nice

@Mr_Capehill

I try to start the game but when double clicked i got:

Quote:
Failed to load shared object
libSDL_ttf.so

Can you build a static binary in order to avoid all that annoying 3th party deps ?

Alright, I replaced the SDL_ttf library (into relative sobjs directory) with a newer one and it's okay now.

edit: here's what it said that time

Quote:
Fixed frame length 16.666666 ms
fopen failed
score 510, level 4, lines 36, pieces 130, FPS 55.625763 (32836 frames / 590302 ms), slept 59.88 % (353468 ms)
Total piece statistics: I 11, O 21, S 20, Z 15, V 18, L 22, J 23, X 0

Good. Next thing that I would like to solve is why only 55 FPS? Did you do something very CPU intensive during play? Asking, because the game is frame capped to 60. It can be changed with command line parameter, for example Nelipala max_fps=30 or Nelipala max_fps=90.

I recommend you to install libSDL_ttf.so because it's less hassle for me and Nelipala is not probably the only app needing the lib. However, when I release sources, you can link it anyway you wish ;)

Yes i may install it and also other SOBjs around however found and install separately all that deps still boring and not in Amiga way imho expecially when you can build static binary instead making your applications better and easy to use

Check this link for more info:

Ok, read it and agreed on many things but didn't see any mention for example about license issues. Ok, not so big problem for open source applications anyway but if you use LGPL'd library you should be careful with static linkage. Also using static libraries is not Amiga way either.

However I wrote on my page and in the readme that this game needs these libs.

All that libraries are in general opensource and when they use a particular licence all you need is include in your archive a plain readme text file with all the info about

That's true, but static bin means "click and run" and not be crazy searching other files here and there on internet
