From what I've heard, Crisot may have received a new Amiga NG mother board to help him develop more his project.
But, I have no more news because I'm no more in contact with Crisot (personal opinion differences...)

Was watching this demo today, and decided to bump this thread.

Curious like delshay was; any update regarding the development?

Considering how old this thread is, I realise its a stab in the dark ^^

Same guy that did this; http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=62274

@Overflow :
It's written by Crisot ... You should ask on French Amiga Forums like amigaimpact.org or amiga-ng.org but ... I don't know if you'll get an answer from Crisot itself.
Crisot did not get any news during a long time and then, he appeared at the Alchimie during november 2013 .. And then disappeared again.
From what I've heard, he seem to be really busy.

Regards,

WHEW! Looks impressively like Legend of Grimrock!
Cool Job!

Crap! Just figured out it is a very old and unupdated project...

Hi! Funny (and really cool!) to discover such topic :)

Most of you know I disappeared some years ago. I did nothing on Amiga between ~2007 and ~2011. Since then, I repaired my XE and started coding again on it.

I started Odyssey, worked a couple of months on it, and "disappeared" again. But... no, I'm not really disappeared this time. I got very few time for coding actually, and, on my free time, I'm too tired to turn on my XE and make headaches on code. But, no, I'm not disappeared. Even if it is a very small amount of time, sometime 1 hour a week, I'm not giving up with code. The demo I did for the Alchime (#Three) is sort of "hiii I'm still there", and since then, the engine continued evolving a bit.

I'm not giving up with Odyssey. It's just a (long) stand by. The webserver dedicated to it's blog is alive and maintained quickly on every crash.

To be honest, feedbacks are a very, VERY important part of any project. Feedbacks are motivation. Such topic is good motivation.

Thank you :)

Feedback wise, this is an awesome project, if you need help turning thus into an RPG, plot wise or game mechanics, I'd be happy to assist.

Keep up the good work

Rude!

@Crisot

Simply the most interesting and impressive native Amiga game concept that I have seen in years.
Crisot, what needs to happen to allow you the time and motivation to get this out of the door? Whatever it is, I am sure that your fellow Amigans will try to provide it!

Keep going!

@Crisot

Congratulations on the progress you have made so far. Such a 3D, first person perspective, game engine would be greatly appreciated for NG Amiga(Like) systems at higher resolutions than older traditional "Doom-Like" game engines have provided so far. I guess there have been some attempts to do higher resolution "Doom-Like" games, but I don't know which ones have been successfully ported to any Amiga(Like) platform.

Have you ever considered allowing other Amiga programmers to assist you in working on this project? What about turning it into an Open Source project with, or without you being set up as the head person in charge of approving which code gets included into the final project?

If money is an issue and you would like to get paid for the time you have already spent developing this game engine, you could follow the same path as AmiDARK and set up a bounty to sell the source code and have it set up as an Open Source project when the bounty money is collected.

Lastly, it is good to see you here on AmigaWorld.net, I hope that you will visit and post forum messages here more often.
