Do you mean the serial no. of the motherboard?
As I just bought a second hand motherboard, CSPPC, Mediator, Voodoo4, 10/100 mBit NIC and Terratec sondcard and put it all in a Micronik Big Tower...
So no serial no. on the case...

It's mainly CBM motherboards in CBM cases I'm interested in - the "real" origina Commodore Amiga 4000T (not from AT or other manufacturers)

I have a CBM 4000T with a fairly low serial, I'll provide this number later on Today. Having said that, I believe less than 500 were ever produced before ESCOM bought it and started making a model with different case, however, I bought mine from a CBM authorized dealer while CBM was still in business.

Great look forward to see the number. My own is the highest I've seen so far (00073). Most references on the net says 100 - 200, but I think they all take the numbers from BBoAH, Amiga History etc. I've found one independent article about it, claiming that less than 100 was produced.

I talked to Dave Haynie and also asked him if he knows anything, but havn't heard from him yet.

So I think I am looking the right number. It's on a while label with "A4000T", "US", a barcode and long number underneath it (8511394365317019000043) so I'm guessing the last few digits indicate the unit number, so it must be 43, although, perhaps the serials were different depdning on what market they were made for (e.g. North America, Europe, Asia, etc.)

The start digits on US models are different from the EU start digits. And yes, it seems like the last digits are unit numbers and yours are no. 43 - we don't have overlaps on the unit numbers yet - interesting to see if that happens.

Just found the serial of Michael Rubisch A4000T - he seems to have an EU model with a lower number than your US model - that could indicate overlapping Unit numbers:

Bensheim
....20000073 (bitman). Machine came from Commodore Denmark
....20000093 (ville9). Machine came from Commodore distributor near Cologne
....20000030 (Michael Rubisch, photo from amiga.resource.cx)

West Chester
....9000001 (http://bboah.claunia.com/a4000tc.html)
....9000002 (dannyp1). Machine original delivered to NewTek for development.
....9000043 (elatour). Machine came from authorized dealer in Canada.

Received a bunch of serials (4 from Germany) - and the status is:

Highest unitnumber produced by Commodore in Germany: 131
Highest unitnumber produced by Commodore in USA: 43

If we don't find any higher serialnumbers (unit numbers) - conclusion still is that under 200 was produced and very few is known to exists today (10 in total).

It's very likely that we havn't found all owners yet - but we keep looking.
