@Spirantho

every west listener that reads the album inner cover?

of course that also depends on whether or not the artists asks for credit in the cover.

Sure it does. And compliments are always nice.

Album cover? I've never seen an album cover for an mp3. :)
Anyway, all they'd see - I'd guess - is just the credit for the song including "Fripp" (or whoever it was). As most songs aren't written by their performers these days, your average West-listener isn't going to know what the "Fripp" in the credit refers to.
It's like songs like Gangsta's Paradise in the 1990's - almost everyone thought it was an original song, and not a "re-interpretation" of a Stevie Wonder song, as it really was.

I just wish that musicians - especially those who fancy themselves as "the best musician in the world" - would actually create music rather than rhythmically talking over someone else's music.

I could go on about this for hours :)

Heresy I say! heh.

Anyway, this guy would be better for endorsements, since he has a way bigger audience:

Sheamus: When I was young, I had a Commodore 64 and then an Amiga

@klx300r

I'd much rather be uncool with the young'uns, and yet still have loads of really good music;
If being cool means listening to the chart music, then I'm as cool as a Duane Dibbley, and proud of it. :P

For that matter no credits show up. only the performer's name.

actually there is no such thing as an original song. every song is inspired by or based on some other song. all of which have roots in classical music and other past styles in structure. the only difference is nowadays with the use of samples this is much more obvious.

Love King Crimson, The voice of Greg Lake stands the test of time. Confusion will be my epitaph.

@klx300r

The only way I would voluntarily watch/listen to that man (beyond the few minutes I did to check out the OP's video) was if I were completely paralysed, laying in a hospital bed and had my eyes taped open. Think 'A Clockwork Orange' but less enjoyable. I think it's simply utter 'musical' twaddle-tosh. After hearing what he purports to be his 'music', it occurred to me that I've heard better sounds (by comparison) in public conveniences....

Same here.

A couple of favorites, for the education of the young.

Heart of the Sunrise (live)

Starship Trooper (also live)

There's a version of the first with better audio quality, but I can't seem to find it at the moment.

@bison,

Nice, Yes is good anytime also. Didn't know my fellow Amigans had such good taste in progressive rock.

Thanks for that, I just had to go think about 'The Premature Burial' for a while to get rid of the nightmare imagery.

I was trying to remember the name of the last egotistical tosser hip-hop artist who irritiated me as much, but typing - "egotistical tosser" rapper - into Google just brought up Kanye West again.

EDIT: Mark Morrison - another name easily forgotten in time: "Return of the Mac" was his 'peak' imr.
