http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/technicalillusions/castar-the-most-versatile-ar-and-vr-system?ref=search.

just read an artical on dansih were there were speaking about jery that see has chef something at valve...a shame she is not there no more.it would have been nice that wee had an amiga frendly person there.. wonder way hyperion didnt take advange of it, and try use jery into making a steam client for os 4.x or orther projeclt.
i think wee have to use our networtk to expand this platform. and most off all products to custmors to buy... an central amiga online softwere marked should been there allready in 99 or when os 4 did go gold...

Wow, this looks like an awesome project. Jeri never ceases to please when it comes to developing inexpensive and innovative tech toys.

Um, one person no matter how enthused about, say, a niche OS, isn't likely going to be able to make such a big decision on their own. You probably know this though.

@Thematic

Nothing to say she's interested in OS4 either and a Steam client is pretty pointless if there's no content to deliver.

@Rob

You make a good point, but its a chicken and egg situation.
My view is that it surely wouldnt hurt to have an energized person/profile
and steam focused on OS4.
Take trevor; his upbeat and energized personality does create
some positivity within the community.
Get enough of these creative "duracell bunnies" focused on a platform
and you might get attention OUTSIDE the already exisiting
community.

A software platform like jack store is a nice step in the right direction,
but a steam like client would be preferable as a pure game platform.
It would most likely increase sales of amiga games due to ease of
availability and installation/storing.

When i got steam for pc back in the days, i was pretty much the only
one amongst my rl buds using it. Now pretty much everyone i know uses
it, and they all do impulse purchases of games due to steam client advertising
and viewing the games they see people on their friendslist plays.

More sales, more people that find they can justify programming software for
OS4 too. Atm some developers release the games on several platforms, but relativly
few include amiga to the list. MACE is a good example. Crisp graphics, music and
playability.
More of the same could give trevor/hyperion something to show off
at expo stands.

I quite like Steam on the PC I have here because I don't really pay much attention to the games market but I have discovered some gems such as Braid and Terraria which I'd never have heard on of without it.

If a similar system makes sense on Amiga that's fine and it's better if it comes from within the community and keeps the money there.

Next month. At least developers can start adding stuff than. The client will need a public beta but server api will be ready at that point. Beta testers will get a bit money to play with which again should attract developers to add their stuff. I offer 50000 amicoins to team morphos and hyperion which equals 500 €.
They could give new AOS or MOS users 500 amicons.

Games (Native and via emulation), apps, music, magazines, themes, movies, operating systems.
Very amigacentric at first.

A must reach target is 1000 registered users within the first 3 month. This combines mos aros amigaos classic and ng + linux windows and osx ppc (interesting oportunity for team morphos).

I am also considering a sort of second hand market for Hardware and to offer a interest rate for amicoins something like 1% p.a . Not much but much more than any other appstore offers : )

Client acts like google play store and will be available for all oses.
It will also work on classic amigas.

Yes amicoins will work like wii points or xbox live points and since you can donate them, they are like bitcoins.

Indeed.

She should go work for Nintendo.

valve have always been a company that struggle to hold on their employee's , i have a friend at Valve and he joined back in late 90s and on his team (only a small part of valve) there is only 2 guys left from the core team which he joined back then and this is down to how the company works and which benefits they have and so on and also it certainly have not worked out the best in terms of the cheifs trolling and ability to piss off fans and the general communities.

Valve was founded by long-time Microsoft employees Gabe Newell and Mike Harrington on August 24, 1996.

That's pretty cool; like a cut back version of what'll be available for xb1+kinnect2. Ive been looking forward to it since I 1st saw it a few years ago.

As for Jerri Ellseworth (probably mispelled that), why do people think she'd have any interest in amiga at all, let alone OS4? She seems to be into interesting/innovative tech, something generic hardware and a throwback OS dont touch upon. Sure, we enjoy it, but its a mismatch.

@fishy_fis

I dont think she has a connection with Amiga meself, but

She kicked off the fpga with retro computing revolution with the c-one and the c64 joystick.
And had a bit to do in the appleII world also.

Sounds like she is on a winner with this one.
Id love to see a third party bring it to workbench somehow.
