| @Hypex It's something only Congress has the power to do in the U.S. according to ARTICLE I, SECTION 8, CLAUSE 5 of the U.S. Constitution: The Congress shall have Power To "coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;". Once Congress reads the Constitution and realizes that bitcoin is coinage, it will be illegal (in the US).

I don't know detailed specs about the X1000, but some general information says cpu mining is 10-100 slower than gpu. (depending on a lot of variables I guess)
And I'm sure I've forgotten a ton of data from 2010. :)

I disagree with your interpretation. There are hundreds of different commodities traded in the US everyday legally. Bitcoin is just another commodity. It just happens to have "coin" in it's name. It's true there could be a move to ban or restrict it somehow, especially if it were to be hacked or proven to be a scam or some kind. But unless that happens, it's business as usual.

If i understood your question, you are basically asking how many Bitcoins you can get when mining with fastest Amiga.
Unfortunately the answer is it is not worth it, you would pay multiple times more electricity than you would receive bitcoins. Actually, It might well be close to million years to mine one whole bitcoin with those nowadays, so that should give you some idea about it.
You need dedicated machines to do it nowadays, even GFX cards have no chance anymore. |

| I actually wanted to mine AmigaCoins at one point, but as i couldnt use my dedicated BitCoin machines to do it, I gave up at that point. Should check again how to use computer to do it, or could i perhaps use my dedicated LiteCoin or DashCoin machines to do it?

Having Amigas mine Cryptocurrencies are a great idea, but no one is interested.
Im sure Trevor or the Vampire team could create a small card for all amigas.
The thing that people forget is Bitcoin is old, too computationally intensive, so what do you do ? give up ?
No. you plan, watch the new currencies being created, jump on them fast.
No platform as yet have a unified system, not even PC !
The new currencies that people are jumping on are always being posted.
For example minergate auto switches to find the best PRICE.
Miners dont work alone they share resources in pools, split rewards daily.
People are having so many problems, with correct driver installed to work with OpenCL or Cuda.
Some using web technology which slows down compute time, one could have a very optimized system - even more if written in assembler.
If Trevor hired a group of electrical engineers to create very powerful board using fast FPGAs for profit switching to different currencies - he would always be sold out !
New businesses always want their own currency & miners is a cheap way for them to get the currency out to the world.
Micro payment, Tokens & Icos are the new digital kickstarter funding & investment for startup businesses.
PS: Dont compute a crypto coin that is too hard for your system, process new currency while they are still babies - they are worth nothing right now, they are an investment for the future.
We dont need to be obsessed with super high rigs, just get the software right for multi currency, multi wallet processing mining system - everyone will drool over.
PS2 Even wifi routers are around with FPGA mining chip in them - pennies make pounds.

| @asymetrix In the moment I can only provide something for ARM But a big change is coming... at least when our tax authority agrees and accepts our request to become a beneficial foundation. If so, we will release a miner for mainstream systems as well. Next weeks we will provide the foundation settlement for approval.

If the rate of bitcoin mining increases the way it has been, with most miners getting more and more powerful computers, power consumption will increase out of recognition, as will internet speed requirements.
Not exactly a green revolution, is it?

Recycler will pay you about 4.70€ for 1kg pure copper, so I guess about 20ct.
Which offcourse will be 20ct more than 1 Bitcoin after the ponzi scheme finally collapses. Last edited by Kronos on 06-Dec-2019 at 01:37 PM.
