I've made a new topic that will should centered on Amiwest Show 2013 videos and pictures.

As Bill Bosari has reported, the raw video taken from my camera is posted at

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLp3C4kPY5Y_EOp1dT_cSHM_alCGmyOisQ

As previously reported, hi-def video of Trevor Dickinson's presentation is at

http://youtu.be/BUTspselATI

(Now where are those posted photos previously reported?)

By the way, Steve Solie's presentation on Amiga OS 4.1.x is now on-line in its high-def glory at

http://youtu.be/yUbdN8UCCYQ

Ahh your capture of this segment includes when the circuit got overloaded and things went a bit dark.
Viewers will need to crank up audio at that point, due the mic also being affected, but be careful. The audio returns at normal levels a while later.

Repeating the general link that pulls up the utube versions of all the other presentations:

The sound quality of Steves speach is horrible! But thanks, I'll try to listen through it anyway. He is good at what he does :) .

@RobertB

How about a bounty for 5-6 proper quality wireless mics for the Amiwest staff?
I palmed my face several times watching the videos from Amiwest when ppl talked beside the mic. Everyone up there should have their own mic! And for gods sake give a mic to pass around in the audience to so we can hear the questions!

This is 2013 and people want to hear the Important news!

Edit: Sorry Robert for rambling, forgot to say thanks for the videos!

@khayoz

robert is a great guy for trying to video and audio the speakers all weekend and such...
but he's not a pro! He uses his home camcorder and yes we have been given a couple of wireless mics.

In order to give all you want pro/tv level audio you want. It would take a team of audio pros and equipment.
All the mics would have to send to a soundboard (mixer) that mixer would take someone on control for days/hours. robert likes to do other amiga things, not mention eat and sleep.

Amiwest and SACC and amiga friends like robert just can't afford to buy this gear for a once a year go.
Bill does a great job of web casting with all his amiga gear. It takes a car load.

Let me repeat again, AmiWest is just handled by a just a few SACC members and amiga friends.
All use their own gear and money and time (using holidays time in some cases)

NO-ONE gets paid!!! we don't charge for any the help we give.
the vendors pay for the hall, so that any amigian can attend free.
Yes we pay for our plane tickets, hotel and risk our gear, all to make it great fun, and it is!!
but afterwards, people from around the world bitch.

I think everyone should...

First and foremost say Thanks...
then gently, very gently offer suggestions...we do try (sigh) harder then you all know.

Your bitching has run off some very well meaning folks who at least take the trouble to be in Sacramento.

Please remember that.

and yes a bounty that you set up for next year will be thankfully used!

No, I will say thank you once something is really solved.
For now its looks promising.

No I can`t do it myself, so I do depend on you.

No, I can`t easily come to AmiWest, its thousands kms away,
and US can easily revoke our Visas if we don`t have letters
of invitations for US, even Ph Ds.

That sounds good, but if something will get more pro for +5$ or whatever,
I am willing to pay admission fees without being there.

You are so ungrateful. Don't you understand these people who put on AmiWest don't owe you anything? Not ANY video and not ANY audio and not ANY photography and not ANY show reports. They are all gifts.

@mbrantley

Thank you for understanding.

I feel bad that all our hard work for AmiWest (16 yrs now) is abused.
All the Amiwest crew wants is for any amigian to come, enjoy and share in the fun.

Our local community tries to share it's good work with the world...

and for the record, people come from all over the world...this year

Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, England, Italy... of course all the US.

Still, some complain of distance, and watch on net, then complain about net (sigh)

Whats left of us will try harder again next year.

Not true, I have a lot to learn from Lyle and some nice presentations,
and yes I do know its hardwork to organize an event (because I did
that in life), but what I am saying is no software updates from Hyperion/AmigaOS
side.

News are good, but results are thin.

Still wrong and ungrateful?

Thanks to presenters and new unofficial You Tube channel (Bossari if I rememeber well).

Suggestion is to have one AmiWest centralized channel in better A/V quality,
if possible. Net streaming was half-half but that was real time.

Nice. Don`t take it that bad, I am complaining on no updates thing
and not on your work. Surely, video quality and streaming could
be better, but positive way, like you say, is to plan not to do them
again.

I never said I wasn`t pleased with AmiWest existing, and yes
it is half planet away from Belgrade, and yes, not everyone can
easily enter US for fun.

@SACC-dude, RobertB et al.

Thanks for all your efforts (this year and all yeras before...).

(Please get it right, vox seems to make you responsible for his disappointment regarding Hyperion announcements. You just can't win all the time... )
