| X1000 users only, my bad I didn`t allow multiple choice, but we will see most urgent needs. Last edited by vox on 04-Nov-2013 at 07:53 AM.

I voted for TW. In today's world a top notch fully supported browser is critical for any platform, even a hobbyist platform.
Second for me would be 3D support, but as Os4 does not support a huge array of 3D games, this would be secondary for me if I owned an Os4 machine.

I voted "Nothing Really".
TW is not a Hyperion project, MUI OWB works.
3D we know, we are going to get in a month or two, and the rest is also being worked on.
Also may I add that "onboard Ethernet driver" for X1000 is an A-ONE project, no Hyperion developers are wasted working on it.
Video play back in some thing anyone can work on, there is huge poetical in assembler optimizing routines, there is also possible right now to implement hardware scaling using composition, setup up a big bounty and I start working on it ASAP.

So if sou dont own an os4 machine let alone an x1k, why are you voting on this poll? it has been strictly stated that this poll is to find out opinions of actual x1k users, you are distorting the results!Last edited by wawa on 04-Nov-2013 at 10:40 AM. Last edited by wawa on 04-Nov-2013 at 10:40 AM.

I voted better internet support, AmigaOS need a modern browser that has full support for watching videos from Youtube, today it is essential that you can watch videos on youtube or wherever in the browser.
I also think it would be good to have more 3D support for games and applications with real hardware accelerations. _________________ AmigaONE X1000, Radeon HD 7950 Amiga 1200 / Blizzard 1260 / Mediator 1200 / Voodoo 3000 / 64 Mb / AmigaOS 3.9 |

Give it a rest. All you're going to do with all this stirring is piss people off.
Go and find out what your X1000 CAN do instead of whinging about what it CAN'T do...
Btw, you forgot "Pancake Dispenser" in the Poll _________________ OS4 Rocks X1000 beta tester, Sam440 Flex (733)

Most urgent need is for you to stop making so much noise. You are not having any fun, and your antics are distracting from our fun as AmigaOS and X1000 users. I'm sure the developers are working hard despite you and surely are not distracted by your campaign. You are not having a positive impact at all. _________________

Not really, but I respect your opinion wawa. I felt strongly about it because I believe there is so much potential in the platform, and those 2 specifics would be very important to me. I may as well own one as I follow every bit of news I can on it. I will be interested to see what the next iteration brings. If it is problematic how can I reverse my vote to keep the happiness...?

I voted full 3d support and TW completion.
btw, I don't see anything wrong with this particular type of survey & kudos for buying the X1000

I'm not sure how a driver for onboard ethernet would equate to better internet support and for accelerated video playback the 3D support with Gallium will need to be added first too.
Anyway while it would be great to have all those features I'm happy to enjoy everything else I can do with the system until said features become available.

| I voted for better Internet support, there is a huge push in the IT industry to support HTML5 and make apps with it. Google Doc is one example that I can bring up that basically give you a word/office capable program, I'm not say online apps dont have there disadvantage too we could still do with more native apps, but having an up to date browser could plug some of the gaps in our software library and just be really cool to have for our fav OS. Weather it be Timberwolf or OWB I would just like to see progress on one of them.

you know i also follow the news and have opinions about the above subject, which i sure voice otherwise, but if vox set up this poll as restricted for x1k users everybody should respect it and so do i. |

And one that dosent crash every 10 minutes.. It is really sad that OWB-mui was dropped years ago which was the only browser that was somewhat response while also supporting modern features. The only hope left now seems to be netsurf... |

it's not dropped, per se. if we fork over e5000 to fab, he'll open the source to his current version of OWB for MOS. so either we pay up, wait for TW development to restart, or live with what we have.

My X1000 would be used a lot more if it had a fully functional Timber Wolf.
A bit of a shame it is still very unstable - but it shows what could be possible if the bugs were ironed out. When TW works it is stunning - it's just not stable enough to use in any meaningful way - so thank the stars for OWB. Without OWB the X1000 for me would be greatly diminished.
Would also love 3D support so that we don't have to have a second Radeon to run 3D games - which is a bit daft.
I think the best thing I have added to my X1000 is the CatWeasel. It is simply ace to be able to just load up my old floppies just like a real Amiga. I would make the CatWeasel standard in all X1000 systems _________________ Sam |

To be fair the survey doesn't suggest that it is. Although it is not a Hyperion product a working version would greatly benefit the X1000 and allow OS4 to sell to more customers.
Would be interesting to know just how much work is required to make it stable. Personally I find it amazing that the Friedens have got it as far as it is.
As Hyperion you would certainly want to see a major browser running on OS4 - it would be foolish not to. _________________ Sam |
