If YAM sent all mails from its Draft directory which contained mails from many various years. Is there any log anywhere or anyway to find what messages were sent ? It looks like dates shown in the Sent window are original creation dates of the mails and not actual sent date ?

PS. I wasn't able to register to YAM's website. My attempt was taken as attempt of spam. I couldn't find any information of user policy.

@Tomppeli

look in the yam directory, you'll see log files there.

@broadblues

I have:
.addressbook
.config
.emailcache
.folders
.taglines
.updatestate
.users

The only yam.log file is from years 2004-2005 and doesn't help.

@Tomppeli

Check the security tab in the preferences program. Perhaps you have logging switched off.

@broadblues

You could check the filestamp dates of the files in the sent directory.

@broadblues

All file date stamps are old dates in the Sent dir. But .index file has date of today. I assume the last sent messages are listed in the end of the .index file ? Or not ?

I think I have to call the service provider and ask if they can give me some kind of a log.

@Tomppeli

What version are you using? I've had trouble with the new YAM2.8 drafting system. It is confusing. I save as draft but then the mail is still on screen. So I then have to close the window myself. Then there is the hold option. So what's the difference? Over some time I had mails in the drat folder and outgoing folder and my YAM setup became a mess! One night it just sent them all out! I never had any problems like this with previous YAMs so don't know why they changed a perfectly working system that messes up your mails and needs more work.

BTW, can you see the mail headers in your sent mails? Do they provide any date? The YAM outgoing index should provide it. You could try rebuilding the indexes. Just check the old ones have no useful info before doing so.

@Hypex

The latest 2.8p1. Subject and addresses are in human readable text but all the rest are in encoded form in the .index files. No human readable dates.

YAM sending all mails from drafts is a very bad thing which can cause serious trouble to a person in the worst case. An email client should never ever do anything like that in any circumstances. Somebody have to make a bug report but I wasn't able to register on YAM's website at all. I think I will try to contact the authors directly.

I found out today that registration is not needed to make bug tickets on YAM website. I made a ticket for this issue.
