| Hi all,

Congratulations!
Now prepare to experience sleepless nights which don't involve programming .
Best regards,

I wish your family all the best. Some of my fondest memories are when my son took an interest in my programming work. I was gratified when I realized he had figured out the Load Runner game construction kit and had devised 13 more levels. I smiled when he invented a simple game for which he programmed password protection, but over time had forgotten the password and so took up assembly language programming to "crack" his own program. This was all before "backups" meant /anything/ to him.
More than that, my wife & I worked part time swapping off the kid in a cart behind our bikes. With one child you can take them EVERYWHERE you go. Trouble? One parent for "timeout"... then swap parents. No *end* of amazement as that life took form.
Being a parent never ruined my programming avocation. Indeed. it was a continual source of ideas, explanations (Why? ... and why that?) _________________ ..effects of civilization upon...nature, the growing gap between what education was supposed to accomplish and what it consisted of, the national debt and...high taxes, the problem of the excess cost of medical care -- Philip Wylie, 1951 |
