| Hi has anyone got a config file for winuae using 680060 as a cpu? Whatever I tried, I always get a system error telling me to reboot winuae. Do I need special files installed in my workbench partition to boot properly with 680060? Thank you _________________ Finally there's light, AOS4 runs in WinUAE. On a real Amiga you needed the 68060.library file installed in LIBS: . I would guess that the same is true for WinUAE. |

What WinUAE version do you use?
68060 works with rather old 2.4.1 I use. (Note: I was not able to boot my main 68040 setup - guru meditation, but boot without startup-sequence works OK)
Why do you need 68060 emulation? |

Error was on WinUAE side, not emulation (that is another step), I think.Last edited by pavlor on 23-Feb-2014 at 09:45 AM.

Are you trying to change the emulated CPU while the emulation is running? That's the only reason I can think of for such a message appearing.
As others have asked, why are you wanting to emulate a 68060 CPU? If you think emulating a 68060 CPU instead of a 68020 CPU will make any programs run faster just because on real Amiga systems a 68060 is faster than a 68020 CPU then you are seriously mistaken. |

@hotrod I will need to find the library to test

@pavlor winuae 2.7.0 version, haven't tried without startup-sequence, I will try it I just want to try it because it is there (680060 emulation) and because I want to test a programm at the highest possible CPU so I will know its doable on the amiga and runs at acceptable speed

@salass00 No I am selecting the CPU before it starts and not while running, with A4000 rom and @MB chip 32MB fast and JIT No I know that emulatin a 680060 will be slower than 680020, because it needs more power to emulate it (and PC power doesn't go up :) ). As I said I need to know if a programm will be usable on a 680060. 68030 is too underpowered for it_________________ Finally there's light, AOS4 runs in WinUAE. Well, if it is compiled for plain 68020, it will work on 68060. If you need to know, if 68060 is fast enough for this application, then your emulated enviroment must be as fast as your desired CPU.
JIT will give you similar speed for 68020/68030/68040/68060 - it is in league of 1000+ MHz 68060 on PC I use right now. Try turn off JIT or lower JIT cache to gain lesser speed. You can use some benchmark application (eg. dhrystone) to fine tune this setting. |

@pavlor I need to load winuae first with 68060 CPU, something that I haven't succeed in yet, then I will try turning of JIT (if the programm runs well), as I am not currently able to load a workbench with 68060_________________ Finally there's light, AOS4 runs in WinUAE.
