I don't see UAE for SailfishOS, which is what my new smartphone runs, in the app store or in the community's Warehouse app. So there's a single device it doesn't run on ;)

... Yet Have you tried running an Android version of UAE on it though?

Funny enough, my N9 has a version of UAE on it which came as part of the "Emumaster" package, along with emulators for the SNES, Megadrive, PS1 etc. It's too slow and limited to be of any use though... But if N9 MeeGo packages run on Sailfish you could always try that.

I heard about this. Mimicking the AmigaOne or AmigaOS name is a bad idea, 2 reasons:

1. AmigaOS4 fans might attack you for doing this (remember Genesi or CUSA)
2. It can cause a lot of troubles if you don't have a name license.

You might get some attention if you can announce a new "Amiga" but you should avoid all the trouble connected with it.

ATTENTION! This crowfunding Armiga has nothing to do with me!!!!

Accepted

indieGO!- gaming console funding failed mainly because:
1. People didn't trust because Money would not be paid back
2. I stated that the Project will be also finished without funding (but will take longer)

To be honest, I could not really see what you wanted to do and what it could mean for a potential customer like me. I was waiting for an announcement with clear product definitions.

Quote:

Developers can allready Register for the IndieGO-Marketplace
www.indiego-gaming.com/marketplace

Developers can also registrer here to get get in touch with us and try out Clients:

www.a-mc.biz/igo

Target platforms for the OS:
PC, Amiga, PPC Mac, Raspberry Pi, Odroid and Cubieboard.

Purchases can be used on all platforms as Long you use the same user account.

Client applications will be available for:
Windows, OS X (PPC/Intel), Linux (PPC/Intel), AEROS (ARM/i386), AmigaOS 3.x/4.x, MorphOS

I don't see a reason for registering.

I work as a developer, I can register on a porn website, but there is no connection why a software developer should register on a porn website, except if he wants to consume porn online.

So what is the product, the goal the meaning of registering there, what can I get, what should i give?

@NutsAboutAmiga

Did you even read the text? It's UAE running under Android on an ARM board with a floppy drive in an Amiga-style case.

This is essentially a minimig with a floppy, except for software emulation rather than FPGA implementation.

@Sammy

Armiga. Haha.

It looks like a contradiction to me. It claims to not be related in any way to the Amiga. But then states it reads Amiga floppies and emulates an Amiga 500. Huh? Well what the hell!?

What a load of crap. We can all see what it will do. Not Amiga related my arse.

I looked at video and all I did see was a poorly 3d printed box, and some old Amiga 500 games.

So its just like Amiga Forever Live CD on PC whit a catweasel, expect there is no JIT support for ARM, so its also dog slow.

Just because you can put label on it does not make it Amiga.

@Hypex

It emulates bunch of other systems too (Atari, Snes and so on), so its more like emulator box then a Amiga box.

I'm shore people who are into Classic Amiga wont be interested in this because there are no AGA chipset or anything like that in it.

I am curious about overall UAE performance. When I owned a Pi I could not get the thing to run UAE, or even c64, smoothly. With sound anyway. I got a handful of games to load perfectly fine but then chugged like crazy once the game started playing.

On AmigNnews Ikir Sector Italia we had a discussion about ARMiga two weeks ago...

ARMiga pratically It is a Raspberry-PI powering the emulator and a real Amiga Floppy disk to enhance retro-compatibility.

@NutsAboutAmiga

If it's more like an emulator box then it should look like it. It's box is obviously a rip off off the A500 including AMIGA font!

I agree about the AGA chipset. But this didn't stop the MiniMig getting attention. "Hey, let's make an Amiga hardware emulator, that's five years behind the best Amiga!"

Not having AGA is a bit backwards to me. If an Amiga clone doesn't have AGA it should make up for it by running OS4 instead.

Then again, some Amiga people seem to have ditched the Amiga before AGA came along, and their memory of the Amiga ends with the A500, ECS and Workbench 1.3.

its just what CUSA did, only difference is that they put some effort into the Floppy Controller hardware, but its not like we have not seen that before.

the most active topic on Amiga.org is "Tips on moving to Linux?."
Way are people not asking for tips to move away from Linux to AmigaOS.

We should not be supporting crap projects.

I would argue that this is different to what CUSA tried to do. CUSA tried to sell inexpensive X64 hardware at inflated prices. Leveraging the Amiga and Commodore branding to do that. This seems more akin to the MiniMig. Just a simple way of emulating a OCS/ECS Amiga.

This is going of topic I would think. Plus I have my own views on this that I doubt would go down well.

I won't comment the technology inside, but DESIGN of that box is really good, I would even say the best of all minimig and other FPGA based Amiga retro machines around.

That's disrespectful to MiniMig, and FPGA Arcade, where you have full hardware implementation in a FPGA. Real work was done to make MiniMig, not just a 3d object printed on a 3d printer, anyone whit a 3d printer can do that.

The Armiga is just a "raspberry pi" + "Floppy controller" + "Box"

This is no more Amiga then a PC whit a Catweasel mk4, and WinUAE is more Amiga compatible :-/
