Does that include Yam? It didn't work for me the other day in Yam and I thought I just had to set it up for this version of Odyssey._________________ Moxee AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOne XE G4 I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. |

It's my understanding that openURL & prefs/URL don't have arexx support & odyssey 1.23 needs that to work. I just keep 1.16 to keep it working.

| @all Nothing changes between 1.16 and 1.23 in terms of openurl/ulropen supports, just an arexx port and name of binary is changed from owb to odyssey. So if you wish all to work without arexx and with defaul url which come with os4: setup new entries in for odyssey. If you want to make it works with arexx, then install openurl and setup it here. urlopen and openurl works together fine.
Changing of port and name done because no one will have mess with joerg's owb. so for odyssey setup everything , and call it odyssey everywhere in prefs, and not owb.
In other words its all the same as before and all works, just setup your urlopen/openurl setting for new names/ports. Last edited by kas1e on 04-Apr-2014 at 07:35 AM. Last edited by kas1e on 04-Apr-2014 at 07:34 AM.

Ah yes, it works ok now. Weird. I must have done a bad config previously. Thanks. _________________ PowerMac G5 2,7Ghz - 2GB - Radeon 9650 - MorphOS 3.14 AmigaONE X1000, 2GB, Sapphire Radeon HD 7700 FPGA Replay + DB 68060 at 85Mhz |

Except its not working as it should. Each URL opens a new instance of Odyssey, not a new tab as OWB did. _________________

Thank Guillaume, that solve the problem I had with the links to docs not working anymore from Yam's menu (since I renamed "OWB" to "Odyssey").
Do you know how it happens that YAM automatically select "OWB" ? I don't find anywhere how to define the default browser to be used from YAM (and so that I can add a "Odyssey" entry in Prefs/URL). |

Probably you still setup it wrong. Its all about passing necessary args where need it, with and without arexx. If you use arexx for, then:
To open in current window:
Quote:
ram:> rx "address odyssey.1; OPEN NAME 'http://google.com'"
|
To open in new tab:
Quote:
ram:> rx "address odyssey.1; OPEN NAME 'http://google.com' NEWPAGE"
|
Working script example:
Quote:
/**/ Address Odyssey.1 OPEN NAME "http://google.co.uk" Say "Done"
|
If you don't you arexx, then check how it was in url prefs for owb, and copy the same for odyssey , as i say nothing changes just binary and port names_________________ Join us to improve dopus5! zerohero's mirror of os4/os3 crosscompiler suites |

YAM will not select a default browswer, URL Prefs selects the browsers, you will get offered a choice of browser that can be found in AppDir: ( from the list of browser setup in URL prefs) if you only ever ran one of them , only one entry will be present and you will not be offered a choice, (a choice of 1 is a waste of requester).
Opening stuff *from* YAM is never a problem, but getting mailto links to work for me is always a bit more tricky.

Ah, ok.
I was puzzled because when I tried to change the "name of the client" in URL prefs (without changing the path, which was still existing and valid), the problem in YAM was not solved.
In fact, that "name of the client" in Prefs/URL is not to be confused with the name of the app; I understand now that it is the "path" (APPDIR:[App]) that select the application to use.
Thanks. Last edited by AmigaPhil on 04-Apr-2014 at 07:27 PM.

There is one for me, but this is the fault of Odyssey.
If I set the mime type text/html so that Odyssey will show me the HTML part of an e-mail, Odyssey will not load the document but ask me for a place to save that document instead. This is because Odyssey does not snoop the content type of a local file, but just looks at the filename extension (and YAM's temp file has no ".html" extension).
Waiting for the next release of OWB/Odyssey... (but pleased with the actual 1.23 in the meantime.)Last edited by AmigaPhil on 04-Apr-2014 at 07:26 PM.

Ah yes there is that problem, true, that happens with all browsers I think even AWeb, the reason being that even if they snoop the file, most 'HTML' emails are not remotely complient html documents. Using html for email was abad idea, using noncomplient html just adds insult to injury.
This is unrelated to UrlOpen. It is not anybodies fault but AOL et al.!

Yes, thanks! That is exactly what I was asking. It is working well now. Although I had a small problem getting it to save. That was because I am use to hitting the Tab key to move between boxes, then selecting Save at the bottom. Each time I checked I found nothing was saved. I am sure you know why.
You have to hit Enter after each edit. Then hit Save.
Also, thanks for the image. I am much better at visual than text.Last edited by Moxee on 04-Apr-2014 at 10:49 PM.

Likewise, I have never had any problem in getting an html link or html mimetype from YAM to show the data in Odyssey.
I have never managed to do the reverse, however, get a mailto: link to open in YAM, clicking a mailto: link in OWB/Odyssey does nothing. In IB the preferences had an "Email and Telnet" section where you could define the action to use on clivking a mailto: link. Unless it is well hidden somewhere, I have not seen a similar setting in OWB/Odyssey. Is there a way to use webpage mailto: links in Odyssey, if not this needs a bug assigning.
"a bit more tricky" suggests you have found a way to use mailto: links in OWB ? |

Ok, it's not a bug to fix in Odyssey.
I think I'll try to work around this with ARexx. While I'm at it, is there a place I could suggest more commands/options for OWB/Odyssey's ARexx port ? Is there a dedicated forum to discuss this ? |
